Tao 125 carb leak

Hi all, it's my first post and i'll start with a question. I got a 2016 Tao Tao 125 today and when I turned on the fuel, gas starting leaking out of the carb. It stops when I turn the fuel on only halfway. I circled where it was coming from. Anyone know what causes this? Thanks much and look forward to hearing from you all!

The bowl below where it’s coming out of fills up with gas and there is a float that rises with the gas. When the float reaches a certain height it stops gas from entering the bowl same as a toilet float works. Yours is most likely stuck and not rising with the gas and it’s coming out the overfill. You can try tapping it with a screwdriver handle and see if that dislodges it or open the bowl and fix it. A new carb is your best bet.

Thanks so much for this info. Carbs are so cheap I should probably just replace it anyways. Never know with an unfamiliar atv. Thanks again!

I bought one off e bay for 12 dollars. Took two months to get here.
