Vinyl wrap is not as hard to do as you would think. Easy to change colors without having to strip old paint or sanding. So of the local shops are very reasonable on small projects. Then there is hydro-dipping.

I bought a scabby old 4 wheeler for the grandkids. The plastics were weathered and rough. So we painted them with Rustoleum. Paint doesn't stick terribly well to that kind of plastic. So at the end of the season we would spray the plastics all down with Easy Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner and then rinse the paint off. Then repaint it with another color choice. They got a kick out of racing stripes one year, camo the next.

For more permanent paint the same hardware store Rustoleum can be topped with 2K clear. But you will NOT be getting that back off with oven cleaner. Gives it a nice gloss though.

This little bike was a nasty faded red. All Rustoleum with a clear coat.

Ok so I stood in front of the oil shelf for a stupidly long time. All the 15w-40 oils say for heavy duty diesel. But several people on these forms said they use rotella 15w40. Is this the correct oil or should I return this and get something else. Bike arrives Monday so wanted to have the oil on hand.

You will be fine with the rotella 15w40. Good oil for the break in period. You can also use 10w-40 Motorcycle oil for winter and 20w-50 for the hot summer which is what i use. As long as it's design for wet clutch applications you will be good to go.

Rotella 15W40 is good for break-in and forever or however long you own the bike, whichever comes first

The JASO MA/MA2 designation is what you're looking for, means its approved for wet clutches.

Just got to the bike today. No issues with delivery or cosmetically to the bike itself. I got 80-90% put together on it but had to call it quits due to sun setting. So will finish it up tomorrow and post some completion pics, though we all know what one of these looks like. Definitely gonna put a skin on it soon. Along with a few other cosmetic customizations. I have never worked on a bike before and really haven't done anything on a car either. And I would say I got most of it put together in just under 4 hours with no experience. So it is quite easy. Just needed a hand from my sisters bf to lift it onto the stand. Seems like the most difficult part was getting it off the metal cage it was shipped in. Idk if I was just doing it wrong or what. But that was a pain in the a** to get off. The back wheel was really stuck in there good.

I am also trying to make a video on the assembly for YouTube. If it comes out I will share a link here. But the GoPro's kept dying on me so idk how good of footage I ended up with.

Ok guys I am at a loss. I have spent hours today trying to figure this out. I finished putting it together today. Changed the oil and replaced filter with a paper one. Filled up the gas tank and it started right up. But it stuttered bad. So I turned it off and checked spark plug. It was black with carbon build up. I went to advanced auto parts and bought a new one. Same stuttering and a cracking or whipping sound when reved at all. So I checked the clearances and both intake and exhaust were fully tight. Couldn't fit any shim in. So I set this properly. Double checked spark plug gap and started back up. Still the exact same thing. I linked a video of it. Can anyone please help me out. I am completely at a loss of what the problem is. Also this stuttering instantly starts turning th spark plug black. And it smells very very rich (I used 92 octane fuel). It's also no where near as high pitched as this video makes it sound.

Thanks in advance for any help.

did the check engine light come on? If so, what's the code it flashes? Make sure all connectors are securely connected like for O2 sensor, throttle position senor and so on.

Fuel is definitely on at the gas tank petcock?

It sounds like there’s a fuel injector spraying and then not spraying.

That doesn’t sound like the engine misfiring to me.

It also seems to happen very regularly. There’s a pattern to it.

I have had no problems whatsoever really with my Lifan, so I am not well-versed in exactly how this works, but it seems like the computer might be getting the wrong idle speed from a sensor. Make sure it’s hooked up first of all.

It seems like the computer is at first thinking it needs a bunch of fuel, and then thinking it has too much fuel. And then repeating that pattern over and over. Other than idle speed, that might also indicate that a sensor that checks out the fuel to air ratio is not reporting correctly.

Idle speed should be around 1500-1600 RPM's.

What plug was in the bike, and what one did you replace it with? May or may not be the problem.
Mine is the NGK CPR8EA-9.

If you haven't ridden the bike yet the ECU hasn't had a chance to learn yet. The engine will run a little rough at first start. Also the engine is still tight so that will also cause idle issues. Get out and ride it a bit to see if it clears out.
