That's the difference. I'm much more concerned about dust and dirt than sleet. The air filter is protected behind the side cover for washing though.

At this stage of the game, when it's fugly and cold and wet out, I'm in front of the wood stove with a cold beer and a warm wife, not on my bikes. ;-)

Well, I've been thinking of how to set it up so I could quickly add the walls of the airbox back on for riding in the wet... Haven't quite figured it out yet though.

As far as riding in the fugly wet, I'd rather be at home with a cold beverage and a warm wife too, but I'm stuck working and I'd still rather ride than drive when I can manage it.

In your case, I think I saw a Hawk setup here where there was a cone filter inside the air box with an open lid? That would have been my second choice of options. Free breathing but more protected.

I like the K&N drop-in also that hertz is running. That would save you a ton of modding.

Wolftrax did the set up you mentioned on his Hawk. Personally that is the set up i can see running myself.

Jet's is also what I was thinking of but as I recall, the turbo tube was rather costly. It would be cool to somehow incorporate the original factory snorkel to save the expense.
*Photo shamelessly stolen from Jet's Hawk thread.

That is exactly what wolftrax did. He used an exhaust reducer in the end of the original tube from the carb to air box.

Right on! Same here. Their response time has been impeccable.

Has anyone fitted rim locks yet? I would like to air down without tire creep.

new design on the cap screws (allen, not phillips) and speedo cable (had rubber shield for use on some other model with a box around the speedo, was lacking lube relative to the original). The fuel filter looks the same, I expect it to fail as well, I'll either bypass or replace with aftermarket.

Nice! Allens!
I got a filter with the stone in it from Napa Auto parts. It's nice and small. They're of good quality and I've never had one fail. I like the inline filters. Some of our gas stations are questionable.

Gnarly trail ride today with my big brother Don. TT250 did just fine, however the 43 tooth rear sprocket is too much for serious trail riding, clutch abuse was the only way. I also think the shift lever and rear brake lever would have to be modified for all the rocks we rode through. While I didn't bend anything I have no doubt that damage is inevitable. I am grateful for the CSC skid plate, it got a huge work out today!

Doh! Don't miss the CSC 10% Off Sale

If you go to the CSC Blog today, Friday Sept 16rh, you'll see their Ad from Joe promoting the 10% OFF Sale this weekend.
And he states that it's 10% "OFF EVERYTHING"!
So I assuming you'll get 10% off the selling price of a new complete bike?
That must be included in the definition of "EVERYTHING"!
I guess I should have waited to purchase my bike?
