Doh! Jets needed for mikuni VM26 (hawk 250)

I just bought a mikuni carb (VM26) and jets from Hawk250.com. It linked me to Amazon. I go to install the jet but it will not screw in. Does anyone know where I can get jets for a mikuni (VM26) carb with fine threads? Or jets that fit that carb from hawk250.com? Please help me!

I've never seen a Mikuni carb with fine thread jets. Call hawk250. He's a good guy. I don't know why he wouldn't help you.....ARH

Have a picture of one of the jets? I can tell you if you have the right ones fairly easily.

I believe the jets shown below are used in the VM22-VM26 Mikuni-clone carbs, they are genuine Mikuni jets. The specs for them can be found HERE and HERE

measure the tip of the pilot yet to make sure it's not the VM28/486 pilot instead of the N224.103. They are the same basic specs, but the VM28/486 has a 2mm tip vs. a 2.5mm tip of the N224. My Mikuni clone uses the VM28/486.

The jet you have looks like the N100.604 main, which should be the correct jet. I have a suspicion that the Jet kit sold by Wings (amazon seller) sometimes contains the Keihin small round jets, which look almost identical but have a very slightly different thread pitch. They will both still work, but will be very tight on the threads screwing into the emulsion tube/needle jet.

The reason I have this suspicion is that I run genuine Mikuni jets in mine, and they screw right in without ever getting tight. The wings jets from Amazon never did.

It will be a little bit more expensive, but if you can, buy the genuine jets. There are 3 main sizes that will work for 90% of the hawks depending on altitude. If the bike is completely stock pick up a 25 and 27.5 pilot jet. The 25 is a touch lean on my bike with a pod filter and exhaust, but will probably be better for a stock bike.

Main jet sizes. For a stock bike a 105 and/or a 110 main jet. Modified a 115 and maybe a 120.
Obviously, your altitude will play a role in what jets to run as well.

Later on you can try to fine tune the jetting more with the between sizes like a 107.5, 112.5, 117.5, etc.
