Mooney Motorsports - Atlanta Area - Hawk DLX - Highly Recommend!!

Once I finally decided to buy the Hawk DLX, the next question was "from where"? From research on this forum, I decide Orion Motorsports seems like a legit operation. Unfortunately they were sold out of the DLX at the time. I then moved on to PowerSportsMax. I wasn't worried about assembly (and was actually looking forward to it), but I was worried about the condition it would arrive in from the shipper and jumping through the registration hoops.

On a whim I google "Hawk 250 for sale in Atlanta", and up came Mooney Motorsports - only 1 hour away. I looked over the dealer threads here, and didn't see any reviews for Mooney Motorsports. So thought I would let you know about my experience with them.

Before driving the hour to Smyrna, I called to get a bit more information. The lady told me they had 2 red ones in stock, already assembled, and there is a $200 doc fee for registration. I inquired further about the registration process. She told me that I would get a temp tag the day I purchased the bike, and they would handle all the paperwork and to pick up my plate at the tab office in 30 days.

Having the bike assembled by someone who had assembled a Hawk before was really appealing to me, but the ease of registration sold me on Mooney.

I arrived at the store about 5pm. They took the Hawk into the back added T4 oil and a new spark plug. We did the paper work, and I walked out of there by 6pm with the Hawk in my truck.

The bike was on sale for $1,9999. Tax was about $150, and the document fee was $200. Out the door was right around $2,350. All this was listed on their website - which is rare to see "out the door" pricing on a website. An honest, family-run, operation.

Fast forward 33 days, and today I went to the tag office. Paid the $20 tag fee and got my license plate. The whole purchase with Mooney was GREAT. I highly recommend to anyone in Atlanta (or southeast) that is looking for a Hawk DLX. The ease of registration and getting free assembly was the icing on the cake.
