Head Scratching Anyone have a Dongfang Ghost?

New member here!

I'm looking to get a Dongfang Ghost (Army Green) this summer but I had some questions based on some reviews I saw online. This will be my first bike BTW.

Even though the speedometer says it is in MPH it actually reads KPH. Is there a way to fix it without getting a new speedometer? I like the look of it and I would like to keep it if I can; and I would rather not use my phone to track speed every time I ride.

Is there anything in/on the bike I need to be cognizant of when I first get it? Like is there a part that just isn't built well and I should replace right away?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

It looks like a really sharp bike and perfect for riding around town and going to/from work, so I'm looking forward to getting it.

There was a guy a while ago from Phoenix who bought one and loved it. Then, he stopped posting. Dongfang seem to be a decent brand, and Venom Motorsports sells a few of their models including, I believe the Ghost (be aware, they rename bikes to alphanumeric names like 'Venom X22' etc) but they are Dongfang models). The reason I mention Venom is they have a good reputation, and stand by their products, so wouldn't sell defective bikes that they have to deal with warranty issues. So, buy it through them would be my advice.

E dit: they don't name it alphanumerically, but do call it the Venom Ghost. https://www.venommotorsportsusa.com/...=7898231046188

Welcome aboard! I was eyeing that bike when it first came out. I ended up buying the Venom X22R 250 Which is made by the same company and has the same engine. The engine that comes with these bikes have a better base for mods as they share parts with the CRF230f engine. I just ordered the Wiseco 11:1 piston for the CRF230F and CRF150F HotCams for my bike. I should easily break 20hp and more. Like Culune stated. Venom Motorsports are top notch guys. Plus you get a 1 year bumper to bumper parts warranty that will be honored. As a chinarider member you can get an extra $50 off if you use the discount code JERRYHAWK250.

Oh wow I didn't know we could get a discount! This is great info, thank you! I looked everywhere to see if it had similar parts to any other bike, so I'm glad there is one! Does it take the same sprockets by chance?
