Newby looking for some tech info

As the name implies, not new to bikes , but have been bikeless for ten years (yikes)

Anyhow I have been smitten by the Roketa DB-03 (Terminator 150 etc) and am on the verge of purchasing but........

I really want a bike with a push rod engine (and I don't care whether that seems rational)

Anyway, the couple online dealers who actually answer my questions tell me it's overhead cam - although there is no online manual that I have seen with an exploded view.

So, do any owners out there know for sure.
If it is indeed OHC, I will instead look for a 200cc model, but how can I tell which ones are pushrod?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

justjoe,

I had not heard of the jialing, are they available in the US?

I see they have a water cooled version - very intriguing.

The only bikes that I know of right now are the Roketas that come with the OHC engine. I know Lifan makes a "race" engine that sells on eBay that's OHC, but I have yet to see one in a DS.

I believe the 150cc is a push rod that you have.

Fatboy, that 150 IS a Roketa. It might well have the OHC. Didn't someone on here just buy one of these like a month ago. They would know which motor it is.

My only reason for avoiding the overhead cam is that I love simplicity.
My first car had a pushrod six.
With a pushrod engine you don't have a cam chain to deal with.

Anyway, the guy at discount rides assures me that it is OHV-pushrod.

Anyone have suggestions/experiences with another online dealer?

Yes I know that the Terminator 150 is distributed by Roketa. However, I should have been more clear in stating that the 200cc Roketa's are the only OHC china bikes that have a major presence here on this forum. Yeah, the one that got wrecked when he hit the dog was a push rod.

Here is a lengthy discussion of engine models and their status as ohv or ohc, pushrod on thumper talk etc.:

http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/arc.../t-365287.html

I have a Roketa db-05 with a 167fml. With a pushrod engine. You may not be able to find out what engine your getting until you get the bike however. Drop shippers never know as much as dealers do.

Good Luck trying to figure out which one to get!!

I have a 150cc, but still going through the exploded views of engines, with dial up. ///////unless you live near Toronto it doesn't matter, XingYue probably isn't what you want. You can always take a look at daymak.com.
Mainly pit bikes, but they have a 150cc canadian cheep.
