Installed kenda 4.50x18 rear k270 tire. (Original 4.10x18). Now need to upgrade the front tire next size up when I wear it out. I like the looks, am up in height about 1 inch. Had a little rubbing on the muff and shimed it and the plastic chain guard out about .25 inch for clearence. Seems to be ok this was my only fear of upsizing the tire.

Additional note, I lost my assistant fire chief yesterday afternoon to a heart attack. Mounted the new tire up took a long ride 1 to 8 pm today. He was young! 50 just coming to the realization that he is gone. He will be hard to replace.

Sorry to read about your co-worker. I just found out one of my coworkers was killed in a gas stove explosion last week in Mexico. Long story short, I worked with the guy for 4 years. I left to work in the prison, and he retired and moved to Costa Rica. Decided he was going to come back to work post-retirement at the same school district we worked at. This time, since he had sold his house in AZ, he bought a house just across the border in Mexico and commuted. Something happened with his stove exploding, he was rushed across the border (we have some kind of deal with San Luis, Mexico to do this), our hospital is worthless for most trauma, and he was airlifted to Phoenix where he died.

I lost a friend and co worker about 5 year ago but it wasn't sudden like your friend.

The Kenda K270 is what I will go with when I need new tires. The IRC tires that came on my Honda never failed me. They will pack up in mud but in sand, grass, loam and hard pack they are good.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/331978072687...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The picture keeps me focused but I will probably buy from Rocky Mountain.

I have a question, didn't the website used to be called Rocky Tucker or something like that?

Yes , our assistant chief was one of those pillars of the community type. The remembrance will be held at the live oak Coliseum to give a since of the magnitude of the loss.

I got it from Rocky mountain atv mc by recomendation of spud rider. Think they are "one of those companies" that are just plain fair and good to deal with. Fair shipping and very liberal 1 time free return exchanges on purchases. Not sure if i could have returned the tire had it not worked out, but i also had a $12 discount . This company bought 1000 supercross tickets for its employees and their families when it came to Utah.

Thanks all for your concern, hard to figure right? Must have been aneurysm heart attack or stroke to take him so fast and He was a ranch manager used to hard work and just a average amount of excess weight like most of us.

I washed up 3 trucks (lots of real estate on these monsters), and mowed the station in preparation for tomorrow's funeral. We will give him a proper send off. Going to be the county latter truck with a flag , a salute line and a bagpipe. Need to hold it together , these things are hard to keep composure in the linup.

You know I priced out the csc memorial day "sale" on one of these tires and with the $26 shipping it still comes out to $84 bucks. Better stick with Rocky mountain atv and their $7 flat rate shipping.

This tire seems to be a thicker tire than the Shinko "country boy" or whatever clone they sent. Need to check the ply, I believe it said 3 ply on the kenda. Will definatly change the front to the kenda when its due. I think ist in line with the more premium tires such as michlin etc.

I think the Shinko is the Ric Flair "Golden Boy" model tire.
