Don't pay any attention to torque values, us old timers have a standard:

"Tighten it until it breaks, then back off a half-turn"

I've done that before.

Things I've done to the RX3

Let me show you them:

I added another tube to the right side this morning. I'm not convinced I'll need the heat shield, but I ran the bike, and the exhaust hits the tube. A little extra insurance never hurts.

Helmet holder. This was originally supposed to go on the left handle bar end. I installed the bar end first, and it's not coming back off. So, I found an alternate location.

The previously mentioned bar ends. I've given up on installing my HDB handguards. There is just not enough real estate on the bar to make it happen. I ordered an extra set of levers from CSC. I'm sure I will need them. I also bit for the gel sheepskin.

RAM X mount. You can put most anything here and it will hold very well. The Iphone will go here. It's convenient to the USB port on the right side of the instrument panel.

I've already posted about the power ports and the aux lights. That's it for now.

You do nice work, Tony. I think you were wise to add the heat tape to the tool tube near the exhaust.

What heat tape did you use, and where did you buy it? Did you buy the heat tape at an auto parts store?

Thanks Spud. I got the insulation from a local motorbike shop. I think it was an MSR brand. It came in a good size sheet. Not cheap either, IIRC, it was around 40 bones.

Thank you WS. I'm nothing, if not fashionable.

I completely missed the blue, Pro Grip 719, hand grips. They look very good, and the matching bar ends complete the package.

Hello, stranger! Aren't you supposed to be riding in Mexico, or Flagstaff, or somewhere else? Do you ever stay home with your beautiful wife any more?

So you thought AZ was a wasteland?

I took a short ride this morning about 10 miles from my house. The first 2 are of Lake Pleasant, just NW of Phoenix. The third is taken from the same spot, but looking away from the lake. It's probably closer to how people picture AZ.
