Nice Bike, and great video. Thanks for posting it. My bike came with 17 / 46 gearing. After riding it a bit on and off road. I'm pretty happy with it the way it is. I'm just going to slap a new Unibear chain on it and call it good. I wonder if the Hawk, TT, Brozz, Blaze, Storm, WILL, etc all have the same sprockets? As in bolt pattern, etc.

I think I'll order a handful of sprockets just to try out. I don't want to lose too much of the bike's punch (I really like it) but I'd like to be able to do the odd 3-5 mile 55 mph run to get to some places quicker. From what i've read the 47 or 49 (already have 49 ready to go) should be alright.

I'm about a third of the way through break-in so I'm not in any hurry, as I haven't really pushed it at high revs yet.

Are the JT249 series the right ones? Some searching suggest they are. Any fit issues?

once its broken in you should be able to do 55 mph runs with no problem on the 17/50

I still am at stock gearing and haven't even put my exhaust/jetting on yet and can do 60 no problem after break in

The engine has loosened up a lot. I pushed it up to 55 briefly a couple of times and it's actually getting there with little trouble.

I think a 49 or 47 will be perfect. There's a lot of hills around here and I don't want to lose the 4th gear pull.

I got my neighbor the same 47 tooth for Christmas that I put on Mrs 2LZ TT. I rode both and the 47, while making each gear a little leggier, didn't let it lose its low end or trail-ability.
It's really about riding preference and your areas needs. (hills, flats, curves, straights, etc..) on which gearing you'll prefer.

Sullybiker, though a crap second attempt vid, I'm not sure if you've seen this yet. It's heading up Rams Horn Grade with the 47 tooth. The grade's way steeper and tighter than it appears in the video. Hopefully it will give you an idea of what the 47 is like when you hear the shifting.

Apparently the TT250 ships with Shell Oil from the Zongshen factory: http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=24091

I would also like to point out that its VERY easy to find neutral if you attempt while the bike has forward motion. It has something to do with the type of transmission that it uses. Ideally shift to N while your rolling up to a stop, but if your already stationary simply roll her forward an inch or two and it will be much easier.

Anyone notice that in the CSC blog that talks about all CSC coming from China with Shell 10w30? Do you think that is a typo, and he meant 10w40? As everything I have read says use MC 10w40?

I don't care if the come with ROYAL PURPLE from the factory. Its getting changed as soon as I get it. Gives me piece of mine and geez it ONE quart of oil . Or in the case of the counter balanced motor 1.16 quarts. So you may have to buy 2 quarts and spend a whole 5 bucks. Another reason, you have NO IDEA how long that oil has been in there. Each to his own but not round here.

my opinion... no offence to joe (member csc dude), he is just protecting the brand with the facts, but in general, a completely smart thing to do with any bike , atv !!

Funny you say that as the oil that came out of my new bike was purple?

WOW, Dang, those Chinese folk have done cloned Royal Purple TOO? That stuff is EXPENSIVE. I used to run it in my 434 SBC race motor. It is good stuff though.

It doesn't matter who I get something from, even my last brand new Victory. I change the oil and go over every fastener just so I know I have a base point of reference for future maintenance. Just an old habit that has yet to fail me.
