Electrical System (LF200GY-2)

Hi guys,

I'm very confused about how it all works, not sure if I am able to install front lights or a odometer.

I was curious on how to wire it properly and if there is even a thing for this bike?

Could I get some help on understanding how it works.

I have two wires hanging down from my front of the bike. What are these two wires for?

Thanks for your info!

Does your bike have an electric starter, and a battery? If so, you can certainly add a front headlight. For example, you can install the Baja Designs (BD) headlight, such as I did on my Honda XR650L. You can learn about the BD headlight at the following thread.

You can also, easily install a bike speedometer/odometer. If you want to get fancy, you can install a Trail Tech (TT) computer, as I did on my Honda CRF250X. If you are interest in the TT units, start reading at post #66 in the following thread.

Show us the wires. That might help.

Wiring front light.

Hi Guys!

I took off my front plastic piece off and I will show you the pic. Behind the plastic piece looks like a slot that will fit a light. I have it measured about 6 inches, with a pic.

Does the light go in there? At the top of the bracket area is the key ignition.

Should I get a different plastic front cover if they sell them or keep the original? My goal is to get a good light for night time. I will get the switch from ebay

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Tusk-Lights-H...b36196&vxp=mtr

I'm still looking for a decent light what would you get for night time riding Weld and Spud, not looking to spend a lot but something that is safe and a lot of light.

With the pictures I have posted with the wiring, would you guys know if I will be able to hook it up properly?

Please let me know so I can order this light and switch and if anything else to get the light working.

Thanks Guys

Do you have a wiring diagram for your bike? If not, I'm sure the Hondoid owners can help you to find one. The Hondoid owners can also help you with your headlight and shroud questions.

Usually, the dark blue wire is the high beam, the white wire is the low beam, and a green wire is ground for the headlight.

Are you in Canada? I suggest you get this Chinese, headlight/turn signal switch instead of the Tusk switch.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/DIY-Turn-Sign...97fd5b&vxp=mtr

I mounted that Tusk switch on my Honda CRF250X, and it didn't last very long. I next installed the Chinese switch, and it is not only much less expensive, it is built better.

Hondoid owners ?

Where do I find the people to contact them, would there be anyone on here that can help find me the right location to find this.. Its almost like there are connectors that need to be connected to the right spot, I don't really want to snip any wires and re wire to get the right head light..

I like that switch better, but the auction has ended, Ill wait till I get the right info before buying anything..

Thanks Spud!

I'm sorry, I forgot you are new to these forums.

Most Chinese bikes employ a clone of a Honda engine. I refer to these bikes as 'Hondoids.' Since your bike is a 'Hondoid,' the owners of other Honda clones can give you the better advice than I, since I own a Yamaha clone.

Before looking for a wiring diagram, buy a low-cost test light and probe the existing wires. It looks to me like your harness is equipped with signal light, horn and headlight wires, so focus on the colours that Spud mentioned first. If the colours he spoke of light up with a test light, there's no need for a switch. You can just wire the headlight to be on whenever the bike is running. If you're not successful in finding power at the dark blue and white wires, let us know and we'll go from there.

The bracket you have is designed to accept a specific China headlight, but it's not necessary. You can easily find a dirt bike headlight on eBay that is equipped with rubber straps. Those straps will wrap around the upper part of the fork tubes.

As usual, Spud has given excellent guidance on the headlight switch.

That switch is listed in many different auctions; just search for the best price.

Electrical Diagram LS200GY-2

I don't know much about electrical but I kind of understand this a little bit.
Would this help at all to see if I can hook up a headlight. I don't care about turn signals, horn, dimmer etc. Just the Front Light with low beams and high beams and the back light.

It shows here that

HEAD LIGHT 12V35/35

Can I still get a good quality light with those numbers? Example LED or H4 Bulb that most people have. If I have to tie straps to hook it on I don't care. I'm going to go out and test the BU-Blue, W- White, G-Green Wires. I'm not to sure what the Br/W- Brown/Strip White wire is. Also trying to find the ground wire as well.

I can take more close up on the diagram if needed.
Thanks

I just want to be safe when Im out night time riding with my friends.

Any green wire is likely to be ground, as long as it doesn't have a stripe.
