just another one
Hello there
For a few weeks now i lurk around this fine forum. It´s high time to introduce myself. I am Juergen from the cold and barren Germany. (however it can be beautyful in summer.)Im working with ZF R&D department(testing) in active chassis Systems. Motorcycles are my life....and now it´s time to go chinese. This is my new V Raptor Its very cold right now so i put only a few Kilometer on it. Just did a first inspection. That was it until now. We have -19 to -21° celsius at night... No riding for a few Weeks. Here some impressions. Garage, Ranger with first "payload", etc. etc. Her Ladyship: Yamaha SR500 ...and "bad bad" Panic-Pete So far at the Moment and looking forward to a hopefully warm springtime. Welcome, and great bike collection! I like your Yamaha SR500 very much!
I just found out we now have a direct importer/distributor for Skyteam, http://www.skyteamusa.com/ but they are only selling the 125cc retro classic lineup in the US (such as the CT-70 minitrail replica, Suzuki RV90 replica, and Honda Monkeybike replica) and will soon have a 125 cafe-style bike--however, when I wrote to them to carry the 230cc V-Raptor and ST250 Enduro they wrote back stating they have no plans at this time I did try to get a writing campaign here on chinariders to write and ask for the V-Raptor and ST250 through skyteamusa (hint hint fellow chinariders http://www.skyteamusa.com/Contact.html) I really like the V-Raptor, and someone over on mychinamoto.com from Bulgaria joined us there and had just bought a V-Raptor, too, a few months ago. Anyway, we look forward to reading about your bikes (even the non-Chinese bikes) and your riding situation in Germany (photos/video are strongly encouraged of your rides) when you have better weather!

Welcome Juergen!
You are going to fit right in around here! I LOVE your collection, especially the Yamaha. Your Chinabike looks like a TW200 clone and is boun to be much coveted around here. Thanks so much for the introduction with pictures.

Guten Tag, Pete.
Herzlich wilkommen. Is that a Simson S50 or S51?! Man I love these little beasts, especially the latest model - Enduro, with the high exhaust. My granddad had a S51... blue Later I learned riding motorcycles on my dad's MZ ETZ150, with the front disk brake. Classy!. ZF, ha? Can we use you as a source of information for Sachs suspension? 8) Just before Christmas I got myself (officially it's for my wife) V-Raptor too. Thank you for the welcome.
First, the Simson is a S50 with an M451 Engine (as in the S51) I can be a source of ZF Sachs products as far as they are already on the market and freely available. You will understand that other information is classified. The (european) Ranger (Mazda BT50) is a Diesel. Of course, otherwise fuelconsumtion would be my ruin. Its a 2.5litre TDCI Engine 330Nm Torque at 1800rpm. Pulls away nearly everything This year i want to do some Motorhiking with the Raptor. Minimum camping gear ,maximum fun. I used tu pack up everything you can dream up and ended with a nearly undriveable bike. So i will reduce all the gadgeteria. you will see the pictures and i hope it will be fun too. So long Juergen

Welcome!
You will fit in well around here. I like your Ranger and all of your bikes (especially the SR500). Is the Active Chassis department where testing takes place on automotive ZF transmissions?

Hallo again.
About the Ranger being the Pickup of choice here.... I foraged for some old pictures. These are from 2001 as far i remember. My first Ranger was a XLT Lariat. No 4x4 Actually nearly a heap of junk. but running perfect and i loved it. 2.3 Litres fuel injected gasoline engine 3speed transmission. I now read Krasis thread. I am impressed by the selfproduced Chain-Oiler (a very good Idea!) For a Saddlebag a will think about something equally ...may be a bit bigger. Reports on this will follow. Also i read about the trailriding, Snake River flyin and Charitos enlighting Peru rides Life sometimes can be wonderful. About The ZF testing. No, tansmissions are build and tested at other sites. Active chassis systems refers to CDC and PDC and roll stabilisation That means electronic controlled/pneumatic and hydraulic Shockabsorbers and Stabilisers.

That's the same generation as my Ranger, a 1992 STX 4X4 4.0 Cologne V6. German engine.

Similar to my ranger. 1988 XLT 2.3L of screaming snail power. I do have 5 speeds though.
