What grease? And, How long is your replacement chain?

Ok, I'm stuck in the frame of mind that once my 18C gets here, I'm taking things apart before it gets the initial assembly. My biggest worry is the bushings, primarily the swing arm and front axle. After reading about owners finding dry swing arm bushings and dusty dry front axles, I just NEED to get in there and see for my own two eyes and repack what I need to before that bike rolls 2 feet.

(This also gives me an excuse to tears down the tail section that comes factory installed and paint it)

What grease do you guys use on YOUR bikes in those applications, and why?

Bonus points for anyone who chimes in with the size/length of chain I'll need to replace the garbage being shipped on my 17T/47T Brozz.

Thanks in advance!
-Eric

Marine grade synthetic grease. Why? because I do go through a lot of water when I go off-road and its waterproof. I actually installed a grease zerk on the swing arm so I can pump it full of grease every once and a while.

Does this mean that drilled a hole where the swing arm bolts to the frame?

Do you remember the size of the drill bit and the zerk fitting? And the tap?

I like this idea, and I might as well while I have the tire off.

I used a 1/4 ×20 tap. Don't remember that exact size bit. The bit came with the tap.

I used Bel Ray marine grease because I had some on hand. Greased front and rear axles, swingarm bolt, front levers pivot pins, and rear brake pedal bolt.

I buy my water proof grease at my local Evinrude Outboard shop. I suppose all marine grease is good, but I KNOW that Evinrude and Mercury outboard grease is salt water proof, as well as fresh water proof.
