2009 shineray enduro

I recently purchased a new 2009 200 shineray enduro. I am very pleased but would like to find information regarding maintenance example oil change and filter- do I have one? I paid $1000 assembled with 0 miles. I have have searched for oil change/air filter maintence but have found very little. I am not sure if shinerays have the same engine as other china bikes or a honda< yamaha? suzuke? My headlight appears to be pointing too high is there a adjustment? Any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the forum! As far as oil filters are concerned, most of the chinese bikes (with the exception of the Q Links) just use a metal screen (often looks like a screen thimble) behind the bolt to drain the oil. Lot's of good maintenance info on the forum here and very knowledgeable helpful folk around .

Welcome!

The engine is likely a Honda clone, and pics would help us confirm. I'll leave the headlight question to those who have your specific bike.

Many thanks I never saw the screen when I changed the oil. I will try to post a few pictures of it. If I am missing the screen can I buy it from a Honda dealer. I have only had the bike for 1 day = 90 miles and overall I am most pleased.
thanks for the helpful prompt replys

The screen is located at the left side, right near the shifter. It is behind a large nut that requires a 24mm socket, IIRC. It is placed so that the oil will drain properly from that spot while the bike is on the kickstand. That said, I'd also use the drain plug that is under the engine, if so equipped.

That is definitely a Honda clone, but the plastic shroud prevents me from seeing the top end. If you care to show us pics of the top of the engine, we can narrow it down further.

Thanks all for your responses. I will try to photograph the top of my mistery engine tonight. I really don't know what I have but I like it. I also own a 150 china scooter and comparing the two my shineray seems to have a higher quality - fastners-welds-tire stems- plastic panels-speedometer- it rides well on streets and very nice on dirt - I'm a old geezer with health issues and my wife calls this new bike my late life crisis. The scooter runs fine but this shineray is way more fun to ride. Time will tell.

I'm just glad you are enjoying your bike. Remember as long as you are moving no one will shovel dirt on you.

You did well on the purchase price too. Looks pretty standard china bike.

Be careful taking the filter plug off and on. They will crack and cross thread easily. Just snug them on.
