My first dirt motor ride ever and did it on my RX3

Did 100 miles today with about half of that being a dirt logging road out in North Bend, WA. The road follows the North Fork of the Snoqualmie river. I tried to ride it 'adventure style' by standing on the pegs and steering with foot weight and counter weight that I've been watching in videos. It took a while but the second half of the ride went from being scared to having a ton of fun weaving around pot holes. It's a really pretty area. I put together a small video so you can see it also. Hope you enjoy it!

Nice vid.It takes a bit to get used to banging around off-road.Especially if the ground is slick or loose.It can feel like the bike is completely out of control.

watch out for those high side single tracks ruts!

The RX-3 is well suited to dirt roads and mild off-road trails. Don't know if you a were doing it but standing up on the pegs gives you way more control and maneuverability off road. If you don't have one already, the 13T counter sprocket really helps with low end grunt and slower speeds needed on dirt.

Thanks all, I was standing and using foot weight to steer along with counter weight for slower sharp turns. I also have the 13/45 combo which works really well and has completely changed the way the bike moves. Tons more power. Allowed me to do most of this ride in 2nd and never lug or over rev the motor.

Well hello there neighbor. I'm in the PNW also and your video shows off exactly where the RX3 shines. The roads you were on are exactly what makes a bike like the RX3 so fun to own. You can go exploring all day without the fatigue of a heaver bike and it allows you to develope riding skills without the fear of crashing a 10,000 dollar bike. Plus living in Redmond you have so many roads at your disposal, 30-40 minutes East and you're in eastern Washington and 30 minutes the other way you're in Seattle. What a terrific motorcycle for such a great place to live. If you haven't already you might want to join the CSC motorcycle group on Facebook where a lot of us share stories as well. Anyway enjoy your beautiful bike and hopefully next year we'll see you on our journey to travel 3 legs of the Washington Back Road Discovery Route from Cashmere WA to the Canadian border. Of course it depends on who wins the election I might be headed to the Canadian border sooner

Hey MotoCrazy. I grew up in Tacoma! Yeah, planning on hitting some dirt tomorrow on the RX3. Trying to get some basic skills before I head down to L.A. in January for the RawHyde adventure camp and then a tour of the Mojave and Death Valley. Hoping to do the WABDR next July. We need to do a PNW CSC meetup!

Considering your currant hybrid project, You are right to be intrigued. We have several Wee Strom owners here also riding an RX3.

Chondax3, there is a guy who bought Everides RX3 in Utah, maybe close to you. He has some very informative videos on youtube about it. He's also posted here. I can send you a link if you'd like. I've had a 650 Vstrom, I'm thinking I like this better, except on the hwy/interstate, which I don't like anyway. It's light years ahead off road, or on forest roads, in my opinion. Lighter, lower, easier to control.
