Mid Life childhood regression syndrome in Wisco.

Hey everyone. The title says it all. I'm 57 years old and found the "need" for a Chinese 125cc pitbike.
I used to ride a buddy's Honda Trail 70 way back when and remember the blast I had. Not entirely sure what the deal with "needing" this new dirtbike is..
I just know I do. Watching motocheez YouTube vids among others galvanized the "gotta haves".
The wife thinks it "cute" that I want to relive my youth vicariously through a made in China pitbike. She doesn't get it.
Well, I figured I could glean some knowledge about Chinese bikes here..
Hopefully I can contribute some as well in time.

Oh yeah, I put the Tao DB17 on layaway.. hoping to have it delivered before the holidays.

Welcome to here! I was going to suggest a VERY low cost bike, but one with some quality, like a Taotao, but you beat me to it! The '17' was their top of the line bike a couple years ago, but they have since introduced their DBX1 with a 140cc engine, and they also have a 125cc version of the DBX1 called the DB27. I think the DB17 is probably their most solid value bike, in my opinion, and since it isn't their 'top' bike you should be able to get a deal on them, which I am guessing you already did. Good choice!

Thank you sir. I did get this one for $719 shipped.
Originally saw the bike for that price at TXMotorsports..
But I got a price match at Family Go-Karts out of MN...which is about 300 miles from my place in Wisconsin. I don't think I will have locked up in layaway long. I need it now.
I love wrenching.. so a China bike is a perfect choice
IMO

Not sure if this will help any, and you have to ignore the theatrics of the guys in the video, not to mention the blaring music, but it is your bike...

Yep. Seen these fellers. A tad hard to watch at times.
I did a good amount of poking around YouTube before I made the decision on the Tao DB17... Now I have to decide if I want to pay off the layaway sooner than later.
It's pretty much winter here ... But I got it bad for this bike ..

Ahh, I’ve fallen on my backside several times at the ice rink. Thought I was an Olympic caliber speed skater. I learned differently.
