Ok, so, 4 hours one way, amazing trail, super fun! 8 constant hours of throttle twisting! And, investigated an old dredge from the 30's-40's at the end of the trail

Next expedition should feature a Chinese bike. Sister is coming down here and riding it.

I received my Honda shift shaft seal and installed it. I also removed the Yamaha's exhaust guards and am trying to figure out a way to mount easily to the Roketa.

That's it for now. My extra job has me working on a trx450 and raptor 660, and I'm trying to figure out a way to get the xt200 to Oregon so I can have it here and work on it, cheaply of course.

Did the new seal stop the leak?

Sure did, no more drippy mess on garage floor.

I may ride it to work today, 30 miles 1 way, just for kicks. Lol.

Take the back roads of course, and enjoy...

Oh yeah, the 'other' bike, as listed in my updated signature... So, I was talking to my sister, and, her step daughter had a 2002 ttr225 that smokes really bad. I mean, really bad. I haven't seen so much smoke coming out of a single cylinder engine before. She's also kind of afraid to ride it because it's so much bigger than their families XR100. So, she gave it to me. I told her she can have my Frankenbike xr100 in exchange, next summer when I go back north. I tore the head and cylinder off the ttr and found really worn rings and I think, a bad o-ring on the oil passage going up the side of the engine. so, I figure, a hone, rings, new timing chain (was stretched to the limits of the adjuster), some gaskets and I should have a good running ttr225 next year in Alaska at my moms house for further adventures. As far as to why it smokes? Well, the air filter system was compromised so I will also address that. Probably pulled in tons of dust and wore the rings out.

One more story. My Frankenbike 100 did great on its 8 hour ride, back on those mining trails, except for 1 thing. The small fuel filter I had installed started to leak. Turns out, the only part not related to either a Honda or a Suzuki failed. It was cracking in half. It scared me for a while for sure. When I got to the dredge, I found a piece of copper tubing just the right size and cut it to the right length, then quickly pulled fuel filter out and installed the copper tubing. No more leaks and the trip continued. So, my frankenbike is now also part 1935 dredge.

I'm wondering if you found parts of an old 'Moonshine/Whisky distill' (the piece of copper tubing)

Rode Roketa to work, then down the stairs, then up the stairs and home... Ran like a top!

I put the XT200 header pipe guard on Roketa. Looks like it will do the trick. Pictures to follow.

I'm just catching up after being away. I've had the same experience with cheap inline filters, so I now seek out made in USA versions. Looking forward to seeing the XT pipe guard on the Roketa.

Looks good man, I've been bringing one bcl kfrom the dead as well but it was a lot rougher than your showroom queen bahaha

This is a good resource for identifying parts and they have a lot in stock. Their parts diagrams are helpful.
