229 engine head bolt torque?

What should the bolts be torqued to? I'm going to replace the stock head with decked ported one

They're actually nuts. Honda CG service manual says 24 foot pounds.

Yep 24ft-lbs will do you fine (that's about 18 gutentights). the outer head bolt on the left side is a little lower, 20lb-ft I believe. Some later CG engine manuals bumped it up to 28, which is what I used for mine since I raised the compression, but 24 will suffice.

Just do the main 4 in a criss cross in at least two stages. I did 15lb-ft for my first set. Once those 4 are done, do the outer bolt.

Here I've been told 1 gutentight is until it strips then one additional half turn
