Crying Need help finding mechanic!!

Hi, my name is Mike. I live in Flat Rock, MI near Detroit. I Have called about ten motorcycle shops in my area and not one will work on a hawk. Does anyone know of a shop that works on Chinese motorcycles near me? My zip code is 48134.

Welcome to CN! I'm a newbie here myself, but I live in the northern Detroit 'burbs. I see a number of people on Craigslist that claim to work on Chinese 'scooters' and 'mopeds'. I don't know if they will or won't work on your Hawk, but I would guess you could ask.

Also if you are on Facebook, there are a number of local motorcycle groups where you might consider asking. Maybe someone there can help steer you in the right direction.

At the moment, I personally have no suggestions, I'm sorry. I am still licking my wounds from a recent +$500 'repair' from the only 'recommended' vintage Japanese motorcycle repair facility near me that resulted in a bike that I push home every time I ride it further than literally around the block. I wish I had better news for you.

What type of work needs to be done on the HAWK? We might be able to help you fix it up yourself and save all that cash in labor fees

As a former motorcycle shop service mgr I understand the reluctance to work on an unknown brand. Where do you get service information, parts, etc.? The Hawk is one of the easiest bikes to work on but since Honda never sent their CG bikes to the US and Chinese CG bikes are still uncommon, shops don't know about them. You might look for a small independent shop and supply them with a Honda CG service manual if you need engine work.

Hi, It's Mike. I have not actually bought a hawk yet. However, I would need someone to do regular maintenance on the bike. It would be my first motorcycle. So I don't know anything about working on a bike. Does anyone know who works on hawks? My zip is 48134 (MI). I called dealers, lawnmower repair shops nobody wants to touch a Chinese bike unfortunately.

These are pretty simple machines. If you are ever willing to try to wrench on one there is a bunch of folks here willing to help guide you through the process.

for about $100 you can get enough tools at Harbor Freight to do almost anything on these bikes.
