I tested my trunk with Keystone Light. Maybe I used the wrong beer because the front end kept coming up in first and second gear.

I felt like Doug Domokos for a few feet.

The build is pretty much done, Waiting on spare CDI,front tire and new chain. Will be leaving approx. 10/01/16 and pretty much heading straight to Panama. I've settled on 17/45 gearing. With the open intake and exhaust it will cruise effortlessly at 58 mph with a top recorded speed of 72 mph(GPS).

Everything I need for an extended expedition fits in the following luggage:
-Nomad Rider 55 liter Venture saddlebag(2-1.5 liter fuel bottles, tools, mess, spare parts, camping gear, rain gear, sleeping bag)
-Kriega US20 20 liter bag(tent and street clothes)
-Kriega US5 5 liter bag(spare gloves, documents}
-Giant loop Fandango 8 liter tank bag(normal day to day crap)

I have 3000 miles on this little beast and the 229cc CG engine is a jewel. It revs freely and has a really torquey bottom end. Not worried about the engine but will be carrying a spare CDI, spark plug, coil, rectifier, brake shoes and assorted bolts.

Have an awesome adventure. Please post updates, daily if possible. I think I'm speaking for most of us in that we will be following your adventure.

Are you going to set us a youtube channel or are you going to post here?

Wolf, u might toss a spare 15 or even 14 countershaft sprock in there if you have the room. might save some serious wear and teAR on the clutch when the going gets steep or nasty and, they're cheap. ;-)
GOOD LUCK

Gaerne G's. I have an old pair of blue and white Fox Forma MX boots with enduro soles but they are a little flashy for around town.

I'm sure you have a good camera phone to keep new Zealand Germany and Texas updated. Now, how to find a signal

I just read this today for the first time as I am looking to find a decent China bike. You have fully given me confidence in my purchase of a Hawk. I am picking up in Daluth GA this week. So were right around the corner!

A couple questions: (I may have overlooked)

Did you install the Mikuni after all? What jetting can be used here in GA
How hard was it to register the bike with the GA DMV
What Exhaust did you add to the bike?

I would love to do this sometime soon! I will look forward to you updating the forum with journey photos and posts.

Safe travels!!

Leaving tomorrow. Was going to ride the Honda due to some wheel issues(wheel bearings and wheel burrs causing tube failure) on the Hawk but lo and behold, the fix was easy to find and easier to remedy. So the Hawk is now loaded, fueled and ready to roll 10/11/16 @ 0800.
