Has anyone installed a nibbi pe30 carb or mikuni? If so how did you like it? 1,312ft above sea level, jetting recommendations?

14 front and 42 rear sprockets with a rk chain done, really like the gearing. Am going to check the valves today and want to either rejet and adjust the stock carb (PZ30JB-ZM1) or replace with a nibbi. Any recommendations either way? 1312ft altitude. Any input on what jets and where to set needle on either stock or new carb?

Is this the stock carburetor (in the picture)?

Yes, and I desperately need to tune it. I’m 1312 ft above sea level and I ordered a jet kit off Amazon that was recommended on this thread. Do you have any insight as to what I should set everything at? My base Templar starts and idles great. The X is tough to start and doesn’t idle great until it’s warmed up. I think tuning the carb will resolve that.

What is wrong with the original carburetor? Does it need jetting? Buy a new carb, it will need jetting...Why not just jet the carb????
My Templar X came with a smoothbore carburetor (https://www.chinariders.net/showpost...43&postcount=1), and modest jetting changes made it excellent start, idle, responsive, perfect spark plug read.

can you post pictures of your OEM carb?

PZ30JB-ZM1 on the carb, after research the zm stands for zuumav and is factory
My altitude is 1312ft, I ordered a jet kit from Amazon, what do you suggest?

I rejet the main from 120 > 125, and pilot from 40 > 45, and shimmed the needle with just one washer (about 1mm).

EDIT: 45 is a bit rich- no choke needed even in cold weather cold engine! Went 40>42 and Now a bit of choke is needed. Perfect.

This is taken directly from the post that I linked...Pictures of the carb and this jetting information is in that post. But if you look at the carb, it is a YouALL smoothbore that I got. What jets came in yours? Is it a smoothbore?

I didn’t take it out yet, I just set the valves to .002 today… I wish these engines just had a valve cover instead of those port holes. It looks very similar to yours from the outside so I hope. We shall see Tuesday when the jets arrive. Where did you get your needle shims from? Also, is there an air/fuel ratio screw on this carb? My plug looks like it’s running too rich, carbon build up

I set my valves to .002 and the exhaust seemed pretty hot as soon as the bike started, not sure if I’m just being paranoid but figured I’d ask

I did.
Mikuni 30mm won’t fit.
Mikuni 28mm also will not fit stock intake boot-I had to make a spacer.
The 28mm Mikuni is simply too large. A 26 May work but again issues with the intake side fitting the stock exhaust.
It’s was a fun way to waste some time but honestly unless you’re playing with a flatslide or PWK it’s not worth it.

Got the x running pretty good, at least it’s rideable until my jets come in. It has a youall pz30 with actual Phillips head screws instead of breakaways so that’s a plus.
