As always it is definitely one of the most rewarding upgrades you can do to a Hawk.

Does the stock speedometer cable work with the Digital Cluster? My cable got chewed up by my front tire...it was sticking out a little which was enough for the knobbies to chew into the wire and throw the speed readings out of whack.

Just dropped you an email Matt...if you have the speedometer cable/part let me know, wasn't sure if you had spare parts laying around that you could sell. Thanks.

The stock speedometer cable doesn't work on the digital cluster

Thanks for clarifying - I'm better off cutting the cable and re-soldering the wires inside the sheathing (and I ordered the part from Matt so that I have a backup in case things don't pan out with that).

For those who might encounter issues with their speedometer cable getting chewed up by the front tire...there are 3 wires inside the sheathing, and it was easy enough to cut the cable, remove the chewed-up portion, and solder the wires back together. Used heat shrink over the soldered wires and electrical taped around the exposed portion of the cable. Speedometer working flawlessly.

The speedometer comes with its own cable and sending unit. ChirsWNY just got his chewed up by the wheel. I placed 3 tie wraps to secure my cable in place, 1 by the sending unit, 1 on the fork just below the boot. I about mid way up the boot. When you compress the forks the wire pushes away from the tire. You can see how I done it at the beginning of the video.

When I changed my fork oil the other day I used two on the boot. 1 about 2" from the bottom of the boot and another a couple of inches above the mid point. I did that after I read Chris's post.
