I'm grateful I didn't have to worry about rim-locks, or even direction or balance - the Shinko 244 is unidirectional and has no heavy point.
Lots of baby powder also helps. Enjoy the 3 days worth of sore hands and fingers. ;-)

The new tyre is nice, and the bounce has gone completely.
Like you I have only changed bicycle tires. In all the years of riding motorcycles I have never had to change a tire or remove a tire until I got a flat on the rear tire on my Hawk. I found it was easy to remove the tire and remount on the rim. Maybe the front tire is harder to do. The key thing was getting it up at a good working level. I set mine on a 5 gallon bucket. I used 3 tire spoons and it went quick. I think it took longer to take off and put it back on the bike than to actually take the tire off the rim. Maybe I just got lucky. I did watch a whole lot of youtube videos for the technic on how to do it.
