Ah, you didn't have enough problems with one, so you got a second one?

Yup

HOPEFULLY gonna get all needed parts from the donor and STILL have enough left to build the reverse hoontrike I at first set out to make (and pray to every possible deity just to be sure that SMASH 2021 will happen)

BTW it's actually a runner AND has some nicer bits than the original one like an almost new saddle and new front shocks. Weirdly enough it also seems to have a bit more power. Kinda tempted to pull the carb from this to the other one, but gonna fiddle with the main jetting first as I got a few of those today too.

Thanks mate that DOES in fact verify a piece of data I have come across in a roundabout way about it, and what lead me to buying a 110 and a 112.5 today. Here`s hoping one or the other will hit the mark.

In case you guys are still interested after I get this one wrapped up, what remains of the parts donor will be built into a reverse trike with the sole purpose of doing burnouts in the flashiest possible manner including a lot of underglow LED lights, possibly lasers strobes colored smoke throwers whatever I can conjure up in a total tongue-in-cheek no rules anything goes way.

Tongue deep enough in cheek for ya? Thought so. For anyone that doesn`t recognize the SFT logos, StuntFreaksTeam is a Finnish show/stunt riding group that don`t take themselves too seriously and just wanna have fun, as do I. If you haven`t already you should check their youtube channel out as most of it is in (bad) English. Veri nais, veri faaast

Back axels of both quads been in a local metal shop for some truing, one came out straight, the other ok as a backup. Currently as I write this awaiting for the primer to dry on the rear rim so I can flip it and do the other side then hit the sack as it`s 1am and I gotta get up at 6:30, silver overcoat and black sectors to arrive over the coming days.

Made a bracket for the speed sensor to the rear swing and drilled a hole to the rear sprocket for the magnet bolt. The two piece bracket was solely for the single reason to be able to realing the sensor after tightening the chain and had zero to do with the fact that I was being a tit trying to eyeball it in place after midnight failing miserably to get it anywhere close where it needs to be.

Coolant temp sensor adapter block fitted to the coolant hose. I was fearing not getting proper readings til the thermostat opens but that proved to be in vain as it`s getting readings from the moment the coolant starts to warm up. (man I`m in love with the Acewell gauge, seems to be of much greater quality than any Koso product I`ve used before)

My neighbour has a sticker cutter machine so he made me these warning light indicator stickers, Didn`t even accept any compensation for them (we have a great back and forth favor for favor relationship going on)

Pretty much finished. I rejetted the carb with a 110 main and it made a big difference but still needs some final tuning later, for some reason the foglights are shorting out but that shouldn`t take too long to fix, gauge needs programming once I find the manual etc little things but for the most part the quad is done. Well except of course the front rims that still need to be painted, probs gonna do that with the tires on though...

Front rims painted, front tires swapped and inspection passed with zero complaints. This thing is now officially road legal!

Well you still got time as this thing still isn't done... Something's still wobbling in the backend making it jump anything above 40km/h, possibly one rear rim is bent. Another problem is the thing is completely gutless on the top end. It has low rev torque but completely lacking high end power to the point that on a very light but long uphill I cannot get it to accelerate past 50km/h! This this should easily reach 80km/h rumor being some have managed to get these up to 100!

Ain't this just dandy... Was arsin back and forth the home street playing with the steering angles so to make the quad even slightly not-so-damn-twitchy when at around 35km/h the left front wheel decided to suddenly lock up! Turns out the left side brake carrier had somehow worked the upper bolt loose and the disc shot the caliper off! Further investigation revealed a bent caliper carrier, broken brake pads and apparently the steering knuckle fixing point have had a jolt too as the paint broke off that too. Luckily I have all the parts in house thanks to the donor quad but really would rather do sth else than continue fixing this heap...

Both quads left the premises today on board the same trailer. I say good riddance as this has NOT been a pleasant experience at all. I've swapped car engines, built several custom streetfighters one good enough to win prizes and feature in both shows and a magazine etc but this thing damn near bested me. Even when selling it had no brakes as no matter what I did I was unable to get the system bled.

Bad news is I had to give the parts donor to go with so no reverse burnout hoontrike coming after all, but I do have one project in the back of my head that might fit this forum's ethos as it has a china engine. More of that if it ever comes to be.

Stay safe, and most of all stay sane! Hope yalls have MUCH better luck with your china rides as mine left me scarred both inside and out.

Might be a bit of a hiatus on posting as I need to first get my garage spic n span now that I don`t have any vehicles inside, brew a couple batches of homebrew as my stock has ran bone dry (boiling up a batch as I write this) then get the XJR1300 I managed to score up to spec and give it a light cafe-ing, THEN it`s time for a little project I`ve been wanting to do for ages but haven`t had anywhere to actually ride one until I recently discovered one can indeed be made street legal following a certain set or rules.

As a teaser, think 1910 board tracker, made out of a bicycle and a two stroke ebay engine kit but done proper not a two hour backyard hack job.
