New Zongshen RX3 (ZS250GY-3) Dual Sport

I just completed a 12-mile ride across town for groceries. I mounted my Garmin GPS receiver, and recorded the odometer setting. Then I zeroed the trip odometer on the RX3 before departing.

I don't know the accuracy of a GPS odometer. However, here are the results.

Trip distance recorded by Garmin GPS receiver: 12.1 miles
Trip distance recorded by Zongshen RX3 odometer: 12.8 miles

My Garmin GPS receiver records hundredths of a mile, while the RX3 odometer only records tenths of a mile. Therefore, I don't know how close the stock odometer was to reaching 12.9 miles. However, using the most conservative estimate of 12.80 miles, I performed the following calculations.

12.8 miles minus 12.1 miles = 0.7 miles 'optimistic' on the odometer

(0.7 miles divided by 12.1 miles) x 100 = 6 percent 'optimistic'

Using the same, Garmin GPS receiver for comparison, the stock speedometer is running over 10 percent 'optimistic.'

I paid to have my bike assembled and shipped. They were going to install the accessories purchased with the bike at the same time...they didn't tell me there were things not available when they called me for payment and shipping.

I paid to have my bike assembled also. I drove down in my truck and picked it up. They didn't have the power ports available, but they sent them to me quickly, and the ports were easy to install.

Thanks for the advice to everybody. I'll check this carefully. I'll fill the inner tubes the next week, preparing the trip (waiting for a couples of days with good weather)

Hondas are ridiculously priced in the U. S. of A., which is why I didn't but a 700. They are limited ground clearance and suspension travel, with a very low center of gravity, and lots of good attributes for adventuring, but they cost too much once the farkles that come with a Cyclone are added,

Hopefully, Honda will take note of the RX-3 and make some adjustments. Competition is good for everybody.

If we pick the bike up at the dealer, we have to pay to have it assembled?

Unless you are accepting it in its shipping crate, and doing the assembly yourself then yes, you will need to pay for assembly. They charge $195 for assembly if i remember right.
