Looks clean! Appears to be a GY6 motor to me from what I can see poking out the headlight. Very reliable and lots of mods available, from what I've nosed around on the web. Shouldn't be a big deal to get going unless it's a catastrophoc meltdown. What's the symptoms? Does it turn over, etc????

I've been looking at a GY6 quad for Mrs 2LZ so I've been nosing around a bit. You can find clutch spring mods, different variator weights, "performance" carbs (whatever that may mean) and big bore kits on Amazon and I'm sure other major sites.

Yep, most big bore kits require hogging the cases, from what I've read. I do know that you can do a lot of normal mods such as pipes, carbs, weights, etc...to make them really go. Doug, my CB guy in Sac let me ride his sons Coolster and it was unbelievaly fast for a 150.

A little help please. So I finally got around to taking a look at my quad and managed to get it running for about 20 seconds. Turned it off and wasn't able to start it again. Doesn't look like I am getting spark anymore and very strong smell of fuel. When I bought this quad the carb was removed and the plunger needle looks like it was glued in place. Probably gonna have to buy a carb kit. What would be the best spark plug for this machine? And what is the setting for the needle in the carb plunger. I apologize if my terminology is not correct. Thanks in advance.

Before doing anything, what does the kill switch on the left handlebar look like? Does it resemble a signal light switch from a street bike? If so, you can kill the bike by sliding either left or right, but you must press the switch in after, in order for the engine to start again.
Please let us know if that solves it. It has stumped many of us.
