Zombie evasion vehicle of choice.

Spud has it!

http://rideapart.com/2013/10/how-to-...se-motorcycle/

Go figure.

It is NOT the uber-reliable Zong, OR his nimble and mighty CRF-X but rather the BRP!

Plus with the desert tank and oil cooler he can ride very far and very fast without overheating or running out of fuel. The rack can hold plenty of ammo for his weapon(s) of choice.

(I won't get into this as the proper weapon for zombie removal is a hot topic of debate in most circles.)

Plus, most importantly, no roads needed.

Spud, was this a prime consideration of your's when you chose the XR650L?

Indeed, the XR650L is the ideal, zombie evasion vehicle (ZEV)!

That's a zombie attack vehicle (ZAT), Stew. I wouldn't want to take that bike off road.

I think that's a Boss Hoss, which is likely equipped with a small block Chev engine.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

That IS an ATTACK vehicle. Also fun but a Boss Hoss so equipped probably weighs in the neighborhood of 1,500 lbs. Thus, being slightly heavier than Roger's (ex) KLR would be very hard to pick up when dropped on the trail.

A prior ZEV article I have seen named the KLR as the best ZEV.

In stock form I'd have to give the edge to the KLR over the XR because of it's 6.1 gallon tank vs. the XR's 2.5 or so gallon stock tank. Also, I don't think they still sell new XR's in the US or Canada.

The KLR650 is a great bike, but it's too heavy for a ZEV. If you drop the bike while trying to evade zombies, you are unlikely to escape when you can't pick it up.

The XR650L is still being sold in the U.S.A. It can also be equipped with a 5.8-gallon, Acerbis fuel tank.

If you drop the KLR on the zombie, the zombie is finished. The down side is while grunting and groaning trying to pick up the bike, another zombie can eat your brain.

Or... You can use it as a deterrant.... All the moaning and groaning from trying to pick it back up will ward off zombies because they will think youre of them....

We always imagine becoming a zombie only happens to the 'other guy."
