Zongketa in DV

Took these pics Wednesday about 25 miles south of Badwater in Death Valley. Best flower show I've ever seen there, and I've spent a lot of time in that area. Found out the Zongshen 167FML engine needs premium on warm days below sea level, where the Lifan 163FML does fine on regular. 9.2 to 1 compression ratio on the Zong and 9.0 to 1 on the Lifan. Got 97 mpg on the 110 mile ride the first day on regular, 92 mpg the second day on premium.

Awesome! Great time of year there.... Glad to hear the Zongketa is being the trusty steed that it should! Thank you for sharing the pics!

Great photos!

That was not what I was expecting to see when you said Death Valley.

I always only put premium in my TMEC and it had a Zongshen 167FML engine. So I never experienced what would happen without it, but it ran great with it. Never had starting issues in the cold like some have reported happens with premium in these Chinabikes. Have you left Quartzite for the season?

The Zongshen 167FML has always started well even with temps in the low 20s F. The 07 Lifan with the 163FML was very hard to start in cold weather until I found and fixed a flaw in the design of the choke cable lower mount. It would not allow the choke to fully close. Starts easy at all temps after the fix.

Yes, high 80s is too warm for me, need snow! I'll be back next year. Stay cool.
