Obviously, Zongshen did not design this bike for the U.S. market, Doc. I think this bike would sell well in the United States, even if had only a 200cc engine. However, a 250cc engine would be even better.

P.S. I must admit, I'm puzzled why Kawasaki did not supply the KLX250S with a 300cc engine.

That's another question for the ages. My guess is tiered licensing in other market countries.

That's the best answer I've heard. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense to downsize the engine when the KLX250S was replacing the KLX300R. :?

Regarding the Zongshen 150GY-10C, I haven't seen this bike currently available for sale anywhere outside the Philippines. Perhaps this bike is indeed sold elsewhere, but I haven't seen reports of it. To the best of my knowledge, these Zongshen bikes are not being sold in the United States, and I don't know when they are supposed to become available here. Perhaps Zongshen is downsizing its presence in the United States. :?

The US market should have been easy for them.

Simply stick with the proven 2006 model 200cc Sierra. Swap the wheels for 21/18's and sell it for less than $2,000 and BACK IT UP! :?

I don't know what motivates the Commies...

so far it is... i can compare from my old chinese street bike back 2002 - that one was a real pain in the neck.
cosmetically better, and the engine was way better - vibration is minimal, runs smoother and the details from wire harnessing to metal finishes this zong is not bad at all...

i've had 110, 200, 250, 400 to 2 600cc road/street race bikes all honda (i love Honda actually), and just 1 yamaha fz600...and of course they are of different class... the zong is my first bike that i can take off and on road so i enjoy it in different way...

basic maintenance i do myself, but not that much.. i leave it to the pro...

actually being 150cc, in my gauge, this bike can equal that of 200cc's and maybe because being new this can out perform 200s even on straights... the 110kph top is just as much as 200cc can so far... acceleration is impressive as i can get to 60 to 80kph quicker than my former 200... i won't be surprised if it can go better than other xr200...

I agree completely; Zongshen should have continued importation of the ZS200GY-2, in addition to the ZS150GY-10 bikes. Indeed, the ZS200GY-2 should get an 18-inch rear wheel, and a 21-inch front wheel for dual sport riding. This change would be very easy for Zongshen to implement, since the ZS200GY-A employs the same front hub, and has a 21-inch wheel. If Zongshen changed the rear spokes, they could easily lace an 18-inch rim to the rear hub of the 200GY-2 motorcycle. However, I don't think Mr. Zongshen is interested in hearing my ideas.

Thank you for your feedback, Jeremy. It's good to know that the quality of the Zongshen 150GY-10C motorcycle compares favorably with the Honda street bikes you have owned.

Thank you for sharing your assessment of the engine power from your 150cc engine, Jeremy. Indeed, I have heard several reports that the new, water cooled engine in the ZS150GY-10 produces power comparable to a 200cc, air cooled engine.

If I may ask, where did you buy your bike? What price are the local dealers asking for a new, ZS150GY-10 motorcycle?

That is a good deal, Jeremy. For the purpose of comparison, how much would a Kawasaki, KLX250SF cost in your area? I realize, the Kawasaki has a much larger engine.

The 250KLX is not yet released in Philippines, those we see around are imports...
Now what we have is the KLX150, this is sold at 115KPesos (2,664.205 U.S. dollars) for enduro type and 130KPesos for motards (3,011.71 U.S. dollars)... Big gap to chinese' to consider as they are of the same class...

Therefore, you paid a little less than 1/2 the price of a 150cc, Kawasaki supermoto for your 150cc, Zongshen supermoto. I think you got a very good deal, Jeremy!
