Thanks guys! I like doing my own maintenance and will stay with the standard chain. I cleaned and lubed it when I installed the 16 tooth sprocket.

I really don't need it to go faster as I bought it for fuel mileage and just filled up yesterday and got 102mpg so really no need to mess with it. I think 74 is probably normal for the stock bike.

Not sure if I want to drill out the stock exhaust. I've seen the KPMOTO exhaust and read that it helps the top end but I really like the look of the stock exhaust.

If I want to go faster, I'll just have to go on a diet....or paint it red like herbie's! :)

Red is the fastest color :lmao:

Has anyone seen a better photo of how the USB Port is mounted on KPR's that come with one?

I guess this is a China option we don't have?

edit: Found it!

Found the factory stainless steel exhaust much cheaper here. I wonder how much it costs to ship something like this. Anyone know the weight of this?

That's awesome! Hopefully, they come with the O2 sensor bung instead of how it's pictured.

They do have a shipping calculator that if you know the weight and size of the package, they can give you an estimate on shipping. Sometimes it's difficult to get the exact information until you buy it and ship it to the local warehouse for international shipping though.

Decided to try one of the KPT200 exhausts from eBay. It is $160 shipped and the muffler comes in a variety of sizes and colors. I opted for a black muffler and hope it works well.

Let us know Jim how it works out, that would be a relatively inexpensive option for an exhaust upgrade. Hopefully it will come with the O2 bung on it and mounts right up for you.

Will do herbie. I verified with the seller that it does have the O2 bung.

The exhaust arrived this morning. Unfortunately mother nature is dumping rain for the next few days so I won't be installing it until next week.

The piping is all stainless steel and has the provision for the O2 sensor. The muffler has a removable baffle in the rear. The welds look awesome and the quality seems great!

herbie 08-19-2022 12:18 PM

Dang it Jim, now I’m going to have to spend more money! :lmao:

Glad I could help you lighten your wallet herbie! If my wife notices, I'll tell her that it increases the fuel mileage.

Was able to get the exhaust installed this morning. Took about 45 minutes start to finish and everything fit just as it should. I did have to cut a relief area in the front plastic where the pipe touched but that was easy to do with an exacto knife. Shown in the relief photo which is sideways for some reason....

The stock pipe measures 1.4" O.D and the new front pipe measures 1.5". The mid pipe measures 2.0".

I tested it first without the baffle in and it is very loud - too loud for my liking. It ran great without the baffle! I have a 600 foot stretch inside the building and was able to hit 50mph whereas before with the stock exhaust, I would hit 42 in the same stretch.

With the baffle in, I was able to hit 52mph in the same 600 foot stretch and it feels stronger with the baffle in and is a bit louder than the stock setup but not by much.

I put some blue loctite on the baffle screw and let it set for about an hour before taking it out for a highway run.

Previously on the same stretch of road my top speed was 74mph. With the new exhaust, I hit 87mph on the speedo and probably could have gone a bit higher but was coming up on traffic.

I'm more than happy with my purchase and would recommend this exhaust to anyone wanting to upgrade their stock exhaust.

No leaks or rattles and really helped to wake the bike up!
