Turns out the speedometer is a touchscreen. Pressing the little set button on it changes it from Odom to trip

I tried that when I first got it. I'll have to go check that out later on. Thanks.

So I went out and tried pressing set a few times. Still does absolutely nothing. Maybe mine is defective. No big deal but It would be nice if it did work.

Little update on speedometer. So i tried pressing on the set button again the other night. It worked a few times and then quit working. tried it again a few minutes later and worked again then stopped. I was able to switch from mph to kph and back. I switch to trip and was able to reset to zero by long pressing it. never worked again. I contacted the tech department at Venom Motorsports and will send out a new one as soon as they come in. The tech guy didn't even know it was touch screen and could be changed. He had a few people contact them about if it had a trip meter.

That's a really nice bike, and it looks great. Amazing what you get for the money. Venom site says 90mph top speed though!

It's more like 90kph with stock sprockets. It would take some serious mods to hit 90mph. With the 36 tooth rear sprocket it will do over 70 mph.

Agreed. I'm loving my bike so far but Venom/Belmonte tend to exaggerate what the motorcycles are capable of stock. Once fully modded without internals, im tempted to say it may max out at about 75mph. On another note, I have noticed after about 5 minutes of highway riding near 70 it seems to bog down and stay bogged for the rest of the ride. Might install an oil cooler on my Ghost soon and I was wondering Jerry how that 125ml cooler on your x22r helped with cooling and power loss.

Are you going to put one of those advanced cam sprockets on the Ghost, JerryHawk?
I have read that advancing the cam can add some rpm range.

I have two 4 degree timing keys coming Monday. One for the Ghost and one for the Hawk.

The cooler work great. No problem finding neutral because the clutch disc don't get as hot and expand.

Nearly 20 days without any ghost updates . Someones gotta end the drought. Hit 700 miles around 2 days ago and finally got rid of the sai system to make room for the oil cooler. Painted it black and put it on last night and it appears to be sealed. No time to test it out because of course the weather wants to storm for the next few days. Liking how it turned out though and hopefully helps on my long highway trips.

Yeah, I've been busy plus the weather hasn't been cooperating here either. I'll install the oil cooler right before the summer heat hits. I still haven't install my 4 degree timing key either. hopefully i can do that this weekend.

I don't think I would ever need an oil cooler where I live. It was 8 degrees out this morning! But that wouldn't stop me from putting one on because it looks cool 8)

Finally had a good day and took the Ghost out to the highway to test the oil cooler. The bogging down after a minute or so wide open has gone away for the most part. Actually able to climb slight inclines without dropping below 60 the entire ride, and averaged 67-70 mph the entire ride for the first time. Still haven't had the time to remove the cat, and now im focusing on improving the top end power where power really drops off in 5th. Thinking i'll go with a pwk30 or pe30 carb and advance timing a few degrees to see if that gets me where im happy with the bike before I open the internals for a more agressive cam,hi-comp piston, or maybe even try to find a big bore kit for the cb250.

Removing the cat and rejetting the carb will be an improvement. On the Stock engine a PE28 would be a better match carb. The PE30 will work better with the ported head, cam and high compression piston. I plan on installing a ported head that i done before I got this bike. Instead of the high compression piston I'm going to deck the head and install the single layer head gasket. I have a different cam in mind instead of the Hotcam that I installed on the X22R. To get a better top end you will need to replace the rear sprocket with a 36 tooth if you haven't already.
These engine actually perform better after about 1500 miles.
