No promises.
I need to return to FL this weekend. All the Taobao bookmarks/passwords are on my desktop there. If someone beats me to it, please let me know....hate to waste what little brain power I have left. :hmm: jb |
jb...I'm counting on you. You da man what gets the neat badges! I'm all over that. I'll even take that wonky BMW badge off my bike and replace it with your contribution to the Cult of Zong.
Your pal, Peter Y. |

I just re-read Spud's tutorial, and it is more involved than I remembered. I'll give it a try. I owe you a favor. As I recall, the whole process can take a few weeks. jb |
Update:
I had some time to go to a wi-fi connection and mess around on my laptop. Configured the Chrome browser for Chinese. Found the Taobao and TaobaoTrends websites. Was able to retrieve my account info. Located only 1 vendor for the Zongshen badges. It's about 4.50 for a pair, depending on the exchange rate at the time. Then there's the agent fee, plus the shipping charge to the US, which may be as much as the badges. Looks like it will be about $10 US to get a pair, won't know for sure until: an order is placed, the agent is paid, agent orders from vendor agent receives order from vendor agent verifies that order is what the customer wants, agent repackages order and notifies customer of shipping charges to US customer pays agent the shipping charges agent ships package to customer in 10-14 days, if all goes well, customer receives package. To add the the fun, Oct 1 - Oct 7 is the national Chinese Holiday week. From what I was able to discern, nothing much businesswise happens during that time. jb |
price sounds reasonable

I'm in for a pair!

I'm good for two

up my bid to 2 pair. Turns out my buddy in Ohio wants some too.

So here's the deal.
This is a one time nonprofit public service on my part. Someone else will need to take over if more are desired. I ordered 10 pair. Because of the Chinese national holiday, nothing will happen until after Oct 7. This may be a 3 to 4 week process. No $ to change hands until the product is in hand, ready to send out. I won't know the final cost until the agent notifies me of shipping charges to the US. And when I find out what it will cost me to send them out. If you change your mind, that's OK If you are unsatisfied with the product, send them back, on your dime, and I will refund your payment. One more thing: If this sort of activity is against the ChinaRider's Forum rules (I don't know), the whole thing is off. Don't clutter the thread with unnecessary posts....like the popcorn eating imogee. I will update the thread when there is anything to report. jb |
jb, thanks for rising to the occasion. Let me know how much I owe you and I'll send it by PayPal. In fact, I'll offer to pick up the slack for any badges that go unsold. You are my hero.

I received an email from the Agent (TaobaoTrends), who has been in contact with the vendor.
The Zongshen badges are not available (even though the vendor site showed 50 available). The email stated the the Zonshen badges were the "old" style, and they don't know when, or if, they will be available again. I can substitute the Dragon bagdes that Katflap showed in post #7 of this thread, or cancel the order. Any interest? jb |
