Just noticed that. A rear hand-brake maybe? |
Zuumav might be the Powersportsmax of Russia, in which case Manny would be spelled MAHHI.

Hey Nutcracker, please let us know what that lever does. |
The little lever is a choke. Its not automatic you hold it in release after a couple of seconds. Also used for opening the butterfly for faster starting if you lay it down. 21 miles of soft trails today. Lots of low end torque & power. It's a tall bike taller than my CRF 230 more power also. I'm using a mixture of rpms while breaking the engine in. Likes 40 mph on dirt roads probably will max out around 60. I love first gear lots of grunt. Very close ratios great for trail's.
Things I don't like. Carbonator ( Manufacturer "You All" Japan. It's a PE30 no air screw and it's pressed unable to reset. That being said I have zero bogg great response and idle so maybe it's good. Time will tell. Battery needs to go. It's heavy and connections will eventually break due to extreme angle it's installed in. Skid plate is a joke. Great for playing a deadly game of frisbee.. Probably Chinese manufacturing but a some bolts holes needed chasing with a tap. Helpful Tech info.. Takes 1 quart of oil. Valves we're adjusted at .0025 Intake and .003 exhaust. Important because the Russian videos state you need to adjust valves regularly. Lots of oil changes the motor runs warm.. |
Carbonator haha Carburetor I'm having to relearn English from all this China talk.. I should have added the suspension is great. It is made by KKE it has a full range of adjustment from compression, rebound adjustment, preload and the shock absorber adjustment. Each have 12 to 18 settings. I'm set in the middle on all settings will be fine tuning soon...

I ordered one last Friday....hoping it will be as good of a bike as my old Yamaha XT250 was, it specs much better than the Yamaha, but also know quality may be a little lower. Expect it next week.....Still haven't told the wife......hope I'm not living in the Man-Cave when she finds out....:grr:
|
Congrats on the new bike. Keep us posted when you receive. I'm really impressed with this bike. Approaching the 100 mile mark.. Save yourself some assembly time.. The air Filter on all the other models are accessible from the side. The Templars filter is under the battery. It did ship with some oil. This is my first China Bike..... Like the others are not really China made... haha..

What’s the story on this motor? Really 249cc? Is it a Honda clone?
|
Motor is a true 249.9 CC. Absolutely Honda inspired but not a direct clone. Appears there a 3 models for the engine. Possibly the bottom end is same and just top end bore & stroke increases from 66mm to 72 mm.. But I don't even think that's the case each model has some unique differences. ZS166FMM, ZS169FMM & ZS172FMM. This engine is the ZS172FMM3-A basically a non counterbalanced 5 speed. The newest GPX, RCB, FSE, Kayo etc has the ZS172FMM-5 (PR250). Its Zongshen made, counter balanced and has six gears. Other Forums specs say the newest engine has less vibrations, but also less power and torque. Power is about 1.5-2 hp less than traditional 172FMM. Joe Henner Motorsports has several post and upgrades that I'm researching. I would love to put a 4° flywheel key in this motor to see the actual difference..

Edit: Ah, heck…ordered lol. I liked the OHC setup on the Apollo, but there’s no replacement for displacement. |
Honestly I'm asking myself the same question. It appears the Engine is very popular Asia, UK etc. There's plenty of parts just where to purchase them. So my answer is yes sorta maybe.. So I took the plunge and ordered a complete engine replacement on eBay. Item# 115297311793
Might be overkill but I figure when anyone on several forums needs a replacement part I will just part out my engine on EBay and it allows me to dissect internals and test hypothesis for horsepower.. Powermaxsports gave me a $100 refund on popped tire and scuffed rim. So my total out the door for the bike and a complete backup engine is $2359.98.. Still happy.. |
|
I’m so damn tempted to jump at this, I’m just scared to death parts could be impossible to find. I don’t want a cool looking bike that’s outta service from a $50 part that’s a 10 month wait. I‘ve talked myself out of buying one twice in the last week…….

Yeah, but to someone who grew up in places that shall not be named, Oklahoma is heavenly. When I was a kid we got 9 inches of rain a year, it’s less now, so coming to Oklahoma (outside of weatherford) and it’s 30+ inches per year is more water than I’ve ever seen lol. I hear okies complain a lot but man, people here don’t know how good they have it! |

So what would go into putting some different wheels on these? I don’t know anything about motorcycle wheel sizing.

MX/SX 21,19 Off-road 21,18 Supermoto 17 front and rear. Widths depend on what you can squeeze between the forks, and the swingarm. The wider, the better. All this info is just to be used as a guideline, tons of combos can be had. Call up Dubya USA out in California, they build wheelsets for anything. However, remember, you could easily spend the price of your new bike again on custom wheels…….. |

She just laughed lol So is there anything more to it? Standard sizes, fork or swing arm widths, axel diameters, etc? I’m used to cars that have stuff like backspacing and bolt patterns and tire clearances, all of which are pretty well standardized: ie truck X can fit 38 inch tires without clearance issues on 17 inch wheel Y that has Z bolt pattern and 123 backspacing. This just looks like an ornate bicycle wheel. |
Update on my order. I ordered mine Monday the 4th and I just got a notification earlier saying that the bike just shipped. However, when I looked at the tracking info provided by the carrier itself (R&L Carriers), it showed on there that instead of it shipping from California as what the lady from Moto Pro called and told me they do the day after I ordered it, it was picked up from Carrollton, Texas..? and is already in my state and to be scheduled delivery on the 12th, yet Amazon estimated delivery between the 18th-22nd lol... Definitely unexpected, but uh, hell yeah!!
|
Excited for you. Man these China Bikes are addictive I want another one. My R&L driver was fantastic. My bikes box looked like it was dropped & flipped a few times.. I had the driver file a claim that only took maybe 10 mins plus I received a claim#. This paid off because I had a scuffed rim and near punctured tire scratches etc... I immediately contacted Max Pro and was given the option of replacement parts or refunds. Zero issues with this bike so far. Everyone who looks at it is impressed..

Wondering if you will upgrade your carb. I'm unsure what model this carb is maybe a PZ30. Ive contemplated getting a Nibbi but really can't say I'm unsatisfied with how this factory carb preforms.. Will be good to have others opinions..
Here's something you might choose to do. The ZS172FMM3-A engine in the bike is not counter balanced. It's buzzy at 45 50 mph Not ridiculous but some harmonicas come to play at certain RPMs. Researching "YouTube" I came across Harley owners filling there handle bars with lead bird shot to reduce handlebar buzz and fatigue.. I installed some bark busters and decided to give the idea a try. A mixture of #5 & #7 bird shot probably close to 1 lb to fill the handle leaving maybe an inch of room so it's not completely full. Wow! What a difference it makes. Probably reduced vibration by 70%. I don't like the Xtra weight but I'm very happy with the results... |
