These bikes REALLY need another gear. I would LOVE a little more road speed but i would severely sacrifice the off road capabilities here in the mountains. As it is i am thinking about keeping a spare set of clutch discs around. Low gear is REALLY not low enough for crawling......

Yes it was. I currently have a 17t front with stock rear. I have a 45t rear but yet to put it on. When I do, does anybody know if I will have to break chain and remove any links?

CSC wants about $700. Some other sellers want close to $500, and up to $550.

A shipping charge of $298 to Hawaii is more than fair, it is exceptional. :)

That $700 from CSC, as I recall, did not include assembly. There was mentioned that, if I could pick up the crated bike from the freight company, that I could save a bit. However, then I would have had to assemble the bike from the crate in the back of my Toyota Tacoma mini pickup. Once assembled, I could use my aluminum ramp to get it out. But, assembling in my pickup wasn't something I'd look forward to. That price did include them hauling the bike from CSC to National City California, where Pasha ships leave from. That would take the price up to around $4200 (not including tax and licensing here). I can buy a slightly used 2014 Honda CF250L (or whatever they call the dual sport) with 1200 miles. Owner is asking $4200.

Are the Hawks platable for Hawaii--that is the real question?! I am guessing that they (ASPCUSA) wouldn't sell them to Hawaii if they could not be registered.

That's a good question. I was told at the local DMV in Pahoa, that, if I buy a Chinabike in the crate, after assembly and basically a PDI, I first must take the bike to a certified scale and take the scale receipt to a shop that does the annual inspections on motorcycles (and there are maybe three of these in Hilo), where they will do an initial inspection, verify VIN, and such. Then, take those receipts to the licensing office to get it licensed. Now, if the maker is not on the list, then it gets a bit tougher. Just have to get someone with the knowhow to get Hansim (or whoever) into the database. New vehicles, when purchased, don't have to go in for the annual inspection for two years after buying, so I assume this bike would be the same. The initial inspection, since I didn't buy the bike from a local dealer that does the setup, has to be done at a shop, to be sure the VIN matches, all lights, horn, etc works, and to be sure the tires are street legal and such. I forgot to ask whether the bike has to be insured pre-inspection, but I'm pretty sure it does. I'll have to truck the bike to the scales, unload it, weigh it, load it back up and take to the shop, where I will have to have made an appointment. We're going to the Kona side of the island for my 62nd birthday very soon, so I may wait to order till then, so it comes after we get back.

CSC now delivers all RX3 motorcycles in an assembled condition. The bikes are strapped down in a custom, wooden crate. You only need to attach the windshield, and the trunk. Therefore, you can uncrate the bike at the shipping terminal, and load it into your truck, as shown in the following thread. ;)

Therefore, you could save some money by picking the bike up at the loading dock, instead of taking home delivery. :)
