Just don't ask for help from THIS doctor, I've got it too.

Don't sell the Q. 100% of people here who have sold a Q miss it, myself included.

The deal has been confirmed. Its a 2003 buell blast. I been waiting for the right deal on a blast or a nighthawk. We are meeting at the Tag place on Friday :D

Doc I would keep the Q but I live in apartments now and have no where to put it. So if I'm not riding it I should sell it. I would rent a space in storage down the street but the cheapest unit on the ground floor where I can store it is well over a hundred a month. Last time I checked it was almost $200.

I still need to put a belt on the Blast and dont have the cash this week to tag it but as soon as I do I will post the Q up for sale. The only issues are the backlight for the gauges is out and theres a few scratches on the rear fender where I been bungieing a tool bag. I'm thinking $800 when the time comes.

Doc understands.

Be sure to stick around here though. That's what the Other and Ride Report Forums are for. 8) I kinda like Blasts. Another undervalued orphan bike, almost like a CB.

Yeah I been waiting for the right deal on a blast or a 80's nighthawk 650. This one fell into my lap and I had to grab it while I can.

Alas, the wise physician is yet another victim of QRS (Qingqi/QLink Remorse Syndrome). ;) This affliction commonly affects riders who have sold their Qingqi/Qlink motorcycles in a momentary, regrettable flight of whimsy.

Spud

FastDoc 04-21-2011 12:11 AM

All I have to do to is remind myself I sold the Q and the XS400 to buy the KLX. :D

I'm just kidding, Doc. ;) ZugZug made a wise decision since he doesn't have space to store two motorcycles. :) You also made a wise decision to acquire the KLX250S, which is a superb, dual sport motorcycle. :D

Nevertheless, QRS is a very real affliction.

Spud :)

X2! We would love to hear all about your Buell Blast in our Other Stuff forum! ;)

Spud :)

X3! I dig Eric Buell's products. I've heard rumours of a possible Buell resurrection; anyone else hear that?

Zug, congrats on the Blast. I was never really a fan of the bikes, mostly from an aesthetic point of view, but I do appreciate their somewhat unique engineering.

Yes, it was 80 yesterday, but today's high is 57. Then we also get 4 days of rain. I am getting tired of these April showers...

As for highway riding, I understand the capabilities and limitations of the 200. The section of highway that I ride is more of a bypass, with fairly light traffic and 55mph speed limit. I feel comfortable riding it for the short stretch that I'm on it. I can easily tuck behind a car or truck and ride in their draft at 65 mph without problem. I do appreciate your concern, though. :D

The ride in this morning was even better than yesterday. I am noticing a bit of front wheel hop, so I need to check the balance and tire run-out and probably replace the fork fluid. And I need to get those risers installed...

Thank you for providing the extra information, DM. :) I feel guilty if I do not caution everyone regarding the dangers of riding a 200cc motorcycle on limited access highways. We consider ourselves very blessed that FastDoc is still alive after being hit from behind while riding his 200cc bike on the interstate highway last year. ;)

Spud :)

I have been rear-ended on my SV before, it is not fun. I was making a left turn, so I was almost stopped, but after the crash I wound up with my helmet under the front bumper and my face shield against the front tire. I was only bruised; it could have ended much worse. Crashes can happen on the highway or anywhere, so now I always make sure I know who is behind me.

Of course that didn't help when I was hit by a deer a few years ago, he came out from the side and tackled me right off the bike. I am now a strong advocate of wearing safety gear.

FastDoc 04-21-2011 04:49 PM

Doc's also glad to be here. I still have work to do.

I was hit by a deer, twice while I lived in Kalifornia!! 8O

I was in my car, both times. SOB dented the door once.

I hit a bat at 100+ MPH in Yosemite one night while riding an Interceptor 800. Hit me in the chest. Felt like Clubber Lang punched me. There is a lot of blood in a bat. I looked like Freddy Kruger.

katoranger 04-21-2011 08:53 PM

I hit a deer in 2003. Fortunately I rode away with a just a bruised ankle and a clump of fur in the fender.

JTCAndrew 04-21-2011 08:58 PM

Hitting Deer in PA is almost an everyday occurance - I hit one in 2000 with My Toyota Pickup 4x4 Lifted - 65mph and drove over top of it!

Hit a Heard of them in my minivan 8 total - Killed 4 of them and didn;t even total out the van! - LMAO Needless to say My Freezer was FULL of Venison for quite awhile.

Thats how we do it here in PA!
