The bike is in New Orleans which is about 60 miles from here. I was told yesterday that it should be delivered today but will call me today if there are any changes. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. :yay:

Update. Due to me living on a dead end street the bike will have to be delivered tomorrow on a small truck with a tailgate lift. I could have it today if I wanted to have it delivered to our shop here at work but that means loading it in back of my truck and having to unload it at the house without any help. I've done that with my Hawk and wasn't fun. I have a bad back so I'm not attempting it. I think I can wait just one more day and have it delivered right where i want it under my carport without having to touch it. So between 3pm and 5pm tomorrow I should have my bike. I can't blame R&L for the delays. They have no control over the border, customs and Canadas Thanksgiving holidays. That alone was a 5 day delay.

Well yesterday started off real bad for me. I woke up and the whole right side of my face had this huge rash and my right eye was swollen up along with a big fat lip. Looked like i lost a heavy weight boxing match. I headed to the doctor first thing. Was diagnosed with shingles. Let me tell you, it's very painful. If you are old do your self a favor and get the vaccine. I wish I would of.
Now the good news. My bike arrived around 5pm yesterday and R&L wheeled it out right under my carport completely damage free. I had to wait till the sun went down so i could uncrate it as the sun made it very painful on my face and eye. It took less than an half hour to uncrate it, slap the handle bars on, install the mirrors, Install the sealed lead acid battery. (Nice upgrade Venom) checked the oil and put gas in her. She cranked right up. I ran it through a few heat cycles with the stock oil. Like my X22R it actually felt and looked like oil with no fishy smell. lol I'll change that out Saturday. I took her for a few rides up and down the street and let if cool down in between. First impression is Venom did a great job working with the manufacture on this build. Most of the things i suggested and other probably did were done. Things like LED headlight and bulbs all around. Headlight is nice and bright as you will see in the video. It has a USB port on the Speedometer, came with a sealed lead acid battery. Mirrors are good and solid with no vibration what so ever. It takes a little effort to adjust them so don't thing they will ever need adjusting again. BTW Took me about 15 minutes to get her tagged and registered this morning. Ready to ride. :yay: Here's a quick video i put together thanks to my daughter for the good camera work. I'll post up more over the weekend. Right now i need to stay out the heat and direct sunlight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_vf6Xu9Cig |
Ghost
Looks great and the headlight looks really bright. Looking forward to more pics and videos, hopefully they will offer it in other colors in the future. Looks like a cross between a Harley Sportster and a Yamaha Bolt.

I'm sorry you got Shingles. I hope you feel better real soon. We're the same age and so far I've managed to dodge that bullet. I'm really interested in your new bike and looking forward to your updates!

Is it actually a 250cc engine?

Conrats Jerry, I know you say you'll be taking it slow but I gotta feeling this bikes days as anything near stock are going to be very short indeed. AND if I was as good a mechanic as you I would do the very same !!! I look forward to seeing the journey unfold, the X22R threads were awesome but being a cruiser guy at heart I think this will be even BIGGER and better |
