Cant say for sure what was wrong but i think the problem is gone. The dealer couldnt duplicate the problem and so we suspect it was one of 2 things:
1 a kink in one of the fuel lines restricting flow 2 something from the manufacturing process that needed to make it through the lines after a few rides If it happens again, he gave me a replacement coil. Ill update you all in the spring. Later folks |

250 DIRT BIKE STALLING
On a lot of the GIO bikes the fuel hose under the seat gets pinched off .. cheap rubber I always install the good clear plastic line.. and I even check when I put the seat on to make sure it is routed away from the pinch area... this is the main problem... it everyone would keep the problem small before the RIP off the carb and go into a main rebuilding situation then it would not seem so bad of a problem.. alot of people when they assemble their own bikes ( out of the crate..) They always forget to unkink the air breather line from the rear of the motor ( vent tube) this will pressurize the motor and blow oil out of the left side crank seal... I have had several buyers call up with that problem... when I tell them to check that.. they never call back... too embrassed..

Cool. that sounds like a plan. Thanks for the tip. I will check it out to be sure. I think i like the idea of repalcing the lines as i don't want to be out in the middle of no where and have this happen.

Replacing the fuel lines is a cheap mod. The clear/translucent helps to verify fuel flow too.

A decent quality fuel filter doesn't cost much more than a cheap one, and they're less likely to fall apart on you. We had a cheap filter separate while on the trailer, and if it hadn't been for the closed fuel valve it would have drained the tank.
If that happened while riding, fuel would be pouring onto a hot engine. 8O |
