That might be a nice option for someone ordering an engine, et cetera. :) Thanks for the good information, HB.

My order seems to be going well. Just received notice of shipment this morning and then heard the Chinese devalued their Yuan tonight. Also, engtaobao.com does offer SAL as a shipping method.

Part is in the country now. Looking good so far.

Forgot to update. I got the part in the Monday before last Monday. Everything was as ordered. Now to order more stuff....

The financial savings, and the addiction, begin. ;)

Ok folks, I'm working on my first purchase with Taobao and I see the same item and what looks like different sellers and way different price between them. Like the clutch plates for instance, CNY 99.00, 130.00, 150.00 for what looks like the same item. I can't tell the difference between the plates as being OEM or aftermarket.

Are there some sellers that you may have used that are reliable or does it matter?

Thanks,

Riceburner

What motorcycle do you own? Post the links for the parts you found, and we can help you choose from among them. ;)

As always, Humanbeing posted excellent information for Zongshen, RX3 clutch plates. ;)

Thanks Spud,

"What motorcycle do you own? Post the links for the parts you found, and we can help you choose from among them."

I have the Z250R /RX3 with the carb, the one I was having trouble with.

I'll try looking through Humanbeing's comments again, I must have missed that one about the clutch.

Just look for other item sold by the seller.
They're divided as
Brand specialist/ Compatible specialist (Mechanic's favorite. Often had clear measurements ...) OR All-in-1 shop (we DON'T like this type. Price often marked HiGH. If ask Qs to them, those "clowns" knows nothing ...)

Riceburner 09-11-2015 07:29 AM

Thanks Humanbeing,

Think I'm going to go with the link to the seller
( http://world.taobao.com/item/3785029...9086.76.aGNPsj) you posted for the clutch, they seem to have most of everything I want to get except for the clutch steel plates, seems I have to order them from another seller.

I have to order several parts as replacement and back up, my dealer MSS Cycle Sales, Iloilo / Motorstar / Westworld don't stock replacement or warranty parts, I'm on my own here (dealer support sucks/ non-existent) so thanks to all of you for your help and support, I need it.

If it wasn't for Spudrider's post about Taobao and ordering parts I'd be lost and frustrated. Thanks again to all of you and your sharing.

From Spud's comments about the 46 sprocket, I think I will go that way. I like the speed of the 44 but once I'm off road, most of the time I have no idea as to what I'm going to encounter and from my past experience and some of the nastiest trails I've ever been on, think I'll give up that extra few MPH /KPH and go for the un-known hill climb. But I can't find a 45 or 46 tooth sprocket on the Taobao site; I'll look it it up on ebay USA, thanks Spud.

Appreciate all of your help.

You're welcome. I'm glad we can help. :)

Do you have the cushioned rear hub, or the original rear hub? Regarding rear sprockets, you might enjoy reading the following thread. ;)

I also highly recommend the 13T, counter shaft (C/S) sprocket, which is readily available for sale on Taobao.

从动 | Driven ie. Steel plates
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=520240335309 [Option 2]
http://chinariders.net/showpost.php?...21&postcount=3 [Option 2]

SpudRider 09-11-2015 12:48 PM

Follow the links provided by Humanbeing. :) The steel clutch plates are the "driven plates." Choose one of the options for the "driven plates" when adding the item to your shopping cart. The fiber plates are the "driving plates." ;)

When you place your order for some items, you have several choices, as shown in the boxes at Taobao. When you add an item to your shopping cart, these same options are available, but they are written in Chinese. You have two methods to make sure you select the desired option.

The order of the selection boxes doesn't change. Therefore, if you want to order a "group of driven friction plates 5," it will be the fourth option listed when you add the item to your shopping cart. If you click on this option at the Taobao website, you will see the price for this option is 50 Chinese Yuan. When you click the correct box in the shopping cart, the price should also change to 50 CNY for that item. ;)

Also, you can reload the webpage at Taobao, and see the Chinese characters before they are translated. Then you can compare the Chinese characters from Taobao to the Chinese characters shown in the boxes at your shopping cart. :)

SpudRider 09-11-2015 01:15 PM

Here is a link to an excellent thread on another forum posted by Humanbeing. It shows the Chinese characters for the Mandarin Chinese names for different motorcycle parts. :)
