I also wrote the street terms in that thread. Mechanic from south often use more senseible words as classical Chinese http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_Chinese. Example [火咀] fire mouth vs official [火花塞] spark plug that NEEDS 3 charcter

taobaotrends

I tried placing an order through taobaotrends but no matter what I select I get a pop-up window "Not Find Item" ...... I'm cutting and pasting the URL directly from Taobao to taobaotrends. Not sure what I"m doing wrong. I got the email from them telling them my account was up and ready so I dont think it can be that.

I had the same problem. If you send an email to TaobaoTrends, they will tell you how to fix the problem. ;) You need to select the correct format at Taobao.

Taobao ordering

With help from Taobaotrends it got fixed. You, meaning anyone using Taobaotrends, must have the default country set as "mainland china". . . and the item URL you are ordering should look something like this : https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm...cket=17#detail

SpudRider 10-16-2015 03:26 PM

Yes, that is the fix. :) You must set the default country code to 'Mainland China.'

Good for you.

11/11 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singles_Day is approaching. It's a good time to grab those bargains on sale.

Thank you letting us know about Singles' Day, HB. :) Do the sales occur on November 11, only? Are the sales only at Alibaba, or are prices also reduced at Taobao?

Why am I not getting the translation option today on Taobao? It had been a drop down option in the upper right corner of the page? Likely I am missing something! I am using chrome.

Chrome occasionally fails. Restart your computer and try again.

How about bulky stuff like fairing parts? DHL and the like convert 1 liter to 0.2 kg, does EMS do the same?

SpudRider 03-12-2016 06:01 PM

I don't know the shipping policies for EMS.

I had an issue with Taobaotrends on my second order. I ordered a part just slightly over month ago but there wasn't any movement on it past the initial quote. I sent them a note tonight and received a response within an hour that they overlooked my order. Oops! I went back to the site and found the payment button was there but no longer said Paypal. The site asked for credit card information when I clicked on it...nope, not giving that. A quickly answered email said that I could still pay through the Paypal site and gave the name, taobaobroker.com to send the funds to. I did that and got a confirmation that things are proceeding forward.

Anybody else no longer seeing the Paypal button? It's the same color but just says "Pay".
