Well I did it,new Hawk DLX is on its way

After doing months and months of reasearch and being REAL with myself about how I’m REALLY going to use the bike I decided on the DLX..
Took about 3 minutes to buy including the credit application (12 months same as cash 0%).
Bought from Orion Powersports
Woooohooooo

Well I payed off my 2016 KLR650 a couple months ago and it was $160 a month and this is $165 a month for 12 months so no biggie

Duckman 11-05-2019 11:49 PM

Good job, I hope you have a great time. Heck I’m sure you will.
I’m just so happy another one has turned to the dark side.

BigFatAl 11-06-2019 12:15 AM

I still have my KLR and a ZL600 but now I have 3 Chinese bikes !!

JerryHawk250 11-06-2019 07:32 AM

Congrats on the DXL.

Musictrek 11-06-2019 12:34 PM

my next bike is the RX4. Too bad KMart doesn't have layaway like they use to. growing up all my toys were on layaway at KMart lol.

Duckman 11-06-2019 02:35 PM

Wait a minute, I know I’m new to all this stuff. But are you saying A Kawasaki KLR650 is a Chinese bike? Again I’m very inept when it comes to this stuff so forgive my ignorance.
Thanx Duckman out

The Kawasaki KLR650 engine is made in Thailand

Duckman 11-06-2019 08:42 PM

Wow no wonder they run so darn good.

Duckman 11-06-2019 09:19 PM

I’m actually thinking about buying either a Royal Enfield Himalayan or a KLR 650.

BigFatAl 11-06-2019 10:47 PM

I guess I worded that wrong,now I have 3 Chinese bikes AND a KLR650 and ZL600.

I never thought about it, but I guess collecting bikes based on their country of origin could be a theme. I've got a Japanese, an Austrian, and a Chinese. I guess I should consider shopping for an American, an Italian, A German, and a British bike to balance out the garage.

I'd probably need to start shopping for a new wife too...because the one I have would probably leave me! Hmmm...I wonder which bike would be the tipping point?!! ;)

Only one way to find out....

I would have more bikes but at $220+ per year each to insure its not worth it, 2 is bad enough.

Welcome from a fellow DLX owner. Love the bike.

Not in MI, mandatory $220 fee per year per vehicle plus whatever your actual insurance cost.

My storm and honda vtx 1300 are about $600 a year, for about 5 ridable months lol.

BigFatAl 11-18-2019 11:08 PM

Picked up the DLX tonight at the FedEx depot in the dark rain,un crated it in the parking lot and loaded it on my hitch carrier.
Even though it came “ assembled and tested “ the front axle was only held in with 1 thread of the nut and it fell off pushing it into the garage !!.
It’s on the lift and I’m going thru the WHOLE BIKE !!.

duck9191 11-19-2019 12:05 AM

Never hurts to give it a good once over with some grease, thread lock and a torque wrench.
