What do you haul on your bike?

I've seen discussion of Beer Runs, well I've done it and I can't be the only one. I finally figured out how to post these photos:

Take a look. I have hauled beer

Propane
http://www.chinariders.net/gallery2/...serialNumber=2

More Beer
http://www.chinariders.net/gallery2/...serialNumber=2
and a chainsaw on my bike so far

I really want some nice panniers, but I am making do with a four dollar milk crate from Staples that I have tie wrapped on the back for now.

culcune 07-14-2006 12:25 AM

Looking at your photos in quick succession, it looks like you have some pretty wild and interesting parties... :D

Satellite 07-14-2006 03:34 AM

Today=

1-six pack of 16 oz Budweisers
1-large can of Foster's Lager
1-can of Easy Off oven cleaner(best engine degreaser out there)
1-bag of safflower birdseed(sun conure)

in a backpack....

there's still a couple bud's left if you're thirsty!

My wife and I have some rabbits.

A friend at work has a small farm and I get hay from him from occasionally to use as bedding/feed. I was leaving work one day and found he'd strapped a large black garbage bag full of hay to the rack as a joke. Ha! jokes on him, I strapped a couple of bungies on it an went on my merry way; got a couple of strange looks at stop lights but no problems.

Of course, next time I'll probably find an entire bale on the back.

tomf16 07-14-2006 10:30 AM

Well slayer, I'd say you've earned your moniker.

tom

Beerslayer 07-14-2006 01:22 PM

That's how I got the name Beerslayer, I earned it. It was given by a friend and it stuck.

damm, I thought I wuz the only redneck in the group :P

dlunt 07-14-2006 04:31 PM

I love the GoldWing picture!
A guy I work with just bought one like that. He is going to turn it into a "naked" GoldWing.
http://www.nakedgoldwings.com/
Check out gift shop:
http://www.cafepress.com/goldwing_shop/1135421
(BTW - These are safe and legitimate links. Naked bikes, not people)

I sent him a copy of the picture and told him that GoldWings are good for something...like hauling around a really cool bike!
(Just yanking his chain. I like GoldWings)

(I needed to post this because I only needed one more to become a "Cool Boy")

tomf16 07-14-2006 04:59 PM

You mean I have to make 50 posts to be a cool boy? At this rate I may never get to be a cool boy.

tom

culcune 07-14-2006 07:33 PM

I think I am past cool boy, and heading to beeping winker...

Beerslayer 07-14-2006 07:57 PM

That Goldwing site was Way Funny. I like the Bike on Bike trailer action too!

Have you considered installing a Beeping Winker on your Goldwing? Maybe that and a Cool Boy sticker and you would be set.

tzrider 07-15-2006 08:53 AM

Well, I'd put a beeping winker on my XR if it'd make me faster...

sheadouglas 07-16-2006 11:54 AM

I haul my big fat..... well, uh, hey honey, how are you tonight? (Looking over shoulder, minimizing the screen so she doesn't see what I was typing)

No but seriously, I haul my gear for work, I've put a 6-pack in my little tail-bag on the bike, I've put my lunch and some soda-pops in their almost daily, but I only have a little carrier on back right now, I am looking at some "dry" boxes, about 9x14x7, and planned on buying one of those, and attaching it to the rack, then I could put more stuff in there, maybe a couple cold drinks and some ice for a little road trip or something??? Who knows, the other option I like is a double pistol case, that will hold 4 pistols, then attached it to the rear rack, and use it, without the foam, but I am still trying to figure out what I really want to get on there. :?

ImEazy 07-17-2006 02:09 PM

So far only a few bags of stuff from the store and my son to ball a couple of times.
I don't get out often enough. :(

I got one of those that I bought at walmart a long time ago. It was sitting in the garage not being used so I mounted it to the rack.

http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/gar...wmod&mid=26772

It's not really that durable but it does work. I lost one of the hinge pins from vibration and replaced it with a piece of metal coat hanger. I have to use the lock because I had it vibrate open once without them. laughs. I want to get one of the JC Whitney $79 cases one day.

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...014603/c-10111

I like the idea of being able to store my helmet and misc items. I don't mind carrying my jacket. The gun case would make a good tool box with the foam and all. Good luck to ya...

bfe71730 07-17-2006 06:57 PM

I mounted a small trunk on the back rack that came with an electric scooter my son had a few years back, he thought it looked "gay" so I never mounted it on the scooter. It won't hold much, so I use a backpack and strap it down real snug if I have to carry anything. Works pretty good, between the 2, got a 12pk, small icechest packed with leftovers, and a few snacks loaded, made a 30 mile ride to the camp last weekend, spent the night and came back the next day. I still like the Goldwing photo, wonder if he ever tried to pull a jonboat with it?

Beerslayer 07-17-2006 07:20 PM

I am going to try to pull my Yukon XL with my bike. I will make sure there is a video if it works.

I am hoping to save a little gas this way.

Jim 04-22-2007 08:36 PM

I went to princess auto and bought a creeper seat, and a tie down to get it home with...

I've also had a crate strapped to the back with zap straps which I used to bring home 5 traffic cones I found abandoned... They weren't using them... honest.

Jim 05-30-2007 05:24 PM

A spare...

My Lifan's aren't the only ones I make carry things... I picked up 20 dvd shelfs for my sister at Ikea (I don't like a lot of their stuff but these shelfs are pretty handy).

What do you guys carry?

Oengus 05-23-2010 04:33 PM

The very first post on this thread made me thirsty for a beer!

note to self: try not to be so affected by the internet.

2LZ 05-23-2010 10:22 PM

How about:

1- 4 man tent
2- sleeping bags (zip together, of course)
1- collapsable ice chest (talking about beer!)
1- hammock
1- queen sized inflatable mattress with battery powered motor for inflation
2- folding chairs
1- weeks worth of clothes and toiletries for 2 people
2- battery powered lanterns
1- 12v tire pump
1- mushroom plug kit
2- King sized pillows

I must have forgotten something!

Mix that with the Lassen outback and it has the makings for a good time! :D

katoranger 05-24-2010 12:29 AM

I strapped a Little Tikes slide to the back of my lifan.

SpudRider 05-24-2010 12:42 AM

I take my Zong grocery shopping all the time. :) I can fit two bags of groceries in my J.C. Whitney travel trunk. ;)

Spud :)

You guys are serious about camping! :) When we do the road trip on my bike I pack a tent and a sleeping bag... My jacket is my pillow, and I sleep on the ground.

Those trunks are sure handy, I used to toss everything in it when I had my Lifan. :)

That was Jerry's Ruger Red Label. I brought the 870 buts its a POS compared to the Ruger so I left the Remingtpon in the case! :D

FastDoc 05-24-2010 07:30 PM

So Phil. Would I be country enough to fit in in your neck of the woods? 8)

phil 05-24-2010 07:36 PM

Actually some cowboy boots would compliment those shorts.

FastDoc 05-24-2010 07:57 PM

I have a Leatherman if that counts.

Sorry, I can't pull off the chaw but I'm good for a few puffs of a see-gar the first day of hunting season. 8)

Close enough?

Mental note. Buy Jerry cowboy boots for his birthday. :D

phil 05-24-2010 08:08 PM
