If anyone goes to any of the shows across Canada...let us know what you think. As a company, we need to hear the good and the bad(Hopefully there isn't any..lol) about our product so we can make it better and bring new ideas to the table.

Turbo, I have other comittments that week but Owner of Saga Canada will be there..

Should be interesting...

Also found out that we are the only Chinese importer in the whole show!...

3 weeks to go!!

Jim 11-28-2009 06:46 PM

Congrats... I wonder how the line up will be in Abbotsford (not Vancouver), we usually have an assortment of Chinese products we haven't heard of, along with a couple we have. Saga was there last year and some no names.

BDIAgencies 12-08-2009 05:24 AM

2 days to go!!

This is better than Christmas!! 8O

BDIAgencies 12-11-2009 11:32 PM

Well...day one is done and it was a great day.....sort of. Lots of people with lots of interest in the products...The scenery of the female species was unbelievable and the there were dealers on the hunt for new products.

Enviroment Canada Nazi's were there inspecting every non Honda,Yam,Kawi and Suzuki for compliancy....for EPA approval. We got a heads up that they were doing this and alot of people didnt bring the actual Certificate from there factory....HUGE CHANGES coming in 2010 and there will be alot of importers out the door

The electric dual sport looked cool but pricey $11450.00 and Johnny Pag was impressive as well...We had alot of interest in our Dual Sport..

Off to get some shut eye...more info tomorrow

Spotted the booth at the Vancouver (Abbotsford) show, only scooters?

Speaking of the Vancouver show, how many members here are going to check it out?

Weldangrind 01-22-2010 10:24 AM

I'll be there late Saturday, TurboT might be able to join me.

We sold them all do dealers except 1 for the show and from my understanding it got damaged...

I would be very surprised if you see alot of chinese product there. The EPA Police are there checking companies.

I couldnt make it due to prior commitments but I would be interested to see who is there from the chinese side.

Jim 01-23-2010 05:16 PM

Saga was there with a line of scooters, and from what I recall they were the only Chinese one. Scooter King was there also, but I believe their products are from Taiwan?

I was told by the Saga guy the epa certs on the bike are not good anymore and they are having to redo them now?

I would have thought Konker would have everything they need to be at the show, maybe they felt it wasn't worthwile?

We unfortunately spent too much time on the hill riding quads today to make it back in time for the show.

Why is the EPA being so hard on motorcycles? They aren't exactly 'gas guzzlers' .. I mean why not go after weed wackers, lawn mowers, generators and everything else that burns fuel? I'm a bit confused about it..

The shows on tomorrow as well.

As far as the EPA stuff, from what I've read, motorcycles pollute more per km on average then a modern car. Not more per litre of fuel burned, but for actual km driven. Also, they (may not be EPA I don't recall) are going after others too, equipment such as excavators and loaders and so on are getting cracked down on from what I understand.

Now to be technical does Canada have an EPA? Is it the same name for the agency here as in the USA?

Vehicle importation into Canada is regulated by "Transport Canada". These guys are the ones you have to satisfy to gain entry for your toy. I'm sure, if you care to look, at the steering neck on your imported motorcycle, or the serial number plate area (driver's door area) of your imported car, you will see a Transport Canada sticker.

Jim 01-24-2010 04:58 AM

That would be equivalent of the USA Dept Of Transportation I assume, and Environment Canada would be similar to the USA EPA?

I guess this is really only relevant to the importer. I know the CVSE are cracking down on shops approving bikes for street use that were imported as restricted use motorcycles.
