Did Jerryhawk250 get hold of it...is it an empty crate? :lmao:
Congrats by the way!!! |

Pretty easy to put together.
Battery is charged. I'll finish it tomorrow. |
Awesome! Look great.
|
It does look nice .
|
Late last night put some gas in her and she started up just fine. Took her for a run down the driveway before putting her to bed. Has four way flashers.
Very poor Chinglish in the owner's manual. Certificate Of Origin came with the bike so I will go and try to register her next week. |

License plate holder needs adjustment. I'll make a plate to fill opening when I remove the air injection pump.
|
Very nice. I think you may end up keeping this one around a year longer than the bobbers.
|
Sweet little bike. Please show us a pic of you on it, so we get a sense of fit.

It is small.
Put some Indian stickers on the tank. |
I am totally thinking about getting one of these because the price is right. What is the top speed it can get and how is the real world MPG? Does it feel quality enough or rattle bad?
The specs on the sales website seem exaggerated with claims of 80+Mph and 67MPG. It would be epic if you could make a video of this going down the road since it is so new no one else has! |

I made a blocking plaie and removed all the air injection plumbing. Cleans up the engine.
As far as top speed and MPG I just got the bike on Friday afternoon in the crate so it will be a while before I break her in. Need to register it anyway before I can do much riding. My TU250X get up to 85 MPG. Odometer on it is correct. So I assume the DF250RTG will be ok MPG wise. $1700 delivered. Oh, and it did come with four mirrors. |

It seems to be decent China bike quality. I have owned about seven Chinese bikes over the years with good success but they are not Japanese bike quality. Don't buy one if you cannot turn a wrench. Probably won't be able to answer any performance question for a while as I will be breaking in the bike as per the owner's manual. Don't see the value of a video of the bike going down the road plus don't have a video camera anyway other than my cell phone. I had two DF250RTBs over the years and the last one I owned for 4 years with little trouble. It had a cruising speed of about 60 MPH. Definitely not an Interstate bike. If you want to go faster than that then this is not the bike for you. |

Any road time yet?

Jerry.
Just a few kilometers around the block as the bike is not registered. Hopefully that will be done this week. The odometer reads in Ks I think. Speedometer might be optimistic as the acceleration seems very good even with low breakin RPMs. I will check it with my speedometer app when I get a Ram cell phone holder for her. Added some bar end mirrors from Amazon. I have used these on other bike and like them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Might want to narrow the handlebars a bit. You getting some snow in Cajun Land? |
I'm really liking the bike. You could always invest in a digital speedo. There are a few out there that would look and work perfect on that bike.
No snow down south but north La. is getting a little. |
I don't mind the odometer reading in K as my long gone Ural did the same and I got use to it. There is no trip meter but there is a reserve on the petcock.
|
Barnone, I suspect you have a cat hidden in that muffler. If so, I bet there's more power hiding in there.
|
Yep. There is cat in the header pipe. Not going to mess with that now. Also doubt that it would make much difference in power.

Removed the cat on many bikes in the past with little or no difference in performance. Just more noise so I will leave it be.

The owner's manual has a photo that shows that cat in in the header pipe close to where the muffler is so I will leave it be. The engine has a decent sound that I am surprised passed ETA.
The engine is a 165fmm Honda OHC CB250 clone at 223 cc. The valve adjust adjustment clearances on the metal tag on the frame show a value of .02-.04 mm for both valves. Does that seem right? |

Oooh! Another CB option. That is great to know. I wonder what kind of speed you can get from her.

What speed are you getting in the break in period and does it struggle to get there? Also are you loctiting everything? |

Just got the Certificate of Origin and the sales receipt from the seller so will register her next week. Then I can put some kilometers on her.

Might be easier to get to if you remove the tank.
|
We shall see when I need to do the first valve check/adjustment. Be a while.

Thanks but I measured the nut at 24mm and a 24mm socket fits in it just fine. Headed to Harbor Freight with a 20% off coupon to buy something else so will buy a 24mm wrench too. What value did you use to set the valve clearances? |
Sold the CT70 clone but might buy another one as it was a good ride and was easy to haul .
|
Got her all registered and tagged today. Waiting on insurance to be completely legal to ride.
