*This part WILL work ,but you need to drill out the mounting holes 1-2 sizes bigger, and also add 2 small washers to go with the supplied spacer ,on each bolt. Theres plenty of "meat" there to drill the holes out ,it took me about 15 minutes to figure it all out ,drill, add washers, and touch up paint everything.

Blue Anodized Aluminum Lifan 125cc Skid Plate $39.99

This parts bolt holes line right up to the Chinese Grom clones ( Did on my Vader anyways) BUT, you will

likely have to do some trimming to get an aftermarket exhaust to clear, it was easy i just marked it, taped it off, jigsawed out what i needed then touch up painted it and awesome sauce.P.S. you can find this part cheaper, link is for pictorial reference)
Blue Anodized Lifan Tappet Covers $9.90
These look good and bolt right on , covers where you adjust your valves.

Which part of fla you in, I'm in Jax.

You plan on rearsets, what kind you recommend?

Chinabike 07-06-2018 02:40 AM

Great list. Post a pic of you bike brother!
and how are those Handlebar i was look at the same.

RedCrowRides 07-06-2018 07:35 AM

To Zx250r : I'm in Panama City Beach ,so I'm 3 hours or so from Jax .I am planning to make the Grom Day "next" time tho, so i 'll be there in 2019 ,unless there is another big Grom Event in JAX before then . As far as rearsets I'm looking at these :

https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Honda-G...19.m1438.l2649

Hey Chinabike ! My Vader won't ship to me til July 15th, that list is all the parts I ordered while I wait for it to get here so I got this huge pile of parts here ,but nothing to put them on yet lmao! I will be posting pix of it when it gets here tho, and after I get all this stuff on it. But, my riding buddy who has a Vader runs those handlebars and they look fine , they are only like 23 dollars and the Pro Taper Mids were like 65 even on Ebay so I figured if i run 23 dollar bars with the same basic dimensions as the 65 dollar Pro Tapers ,that leaves me 40 bucks i can use to order stuff i need., those bars are knurled both where they fit in the clamp as well as on both ends where your grips go ,so your grips won't slide off ,which is amazing for a set of 23 dollar bars ,they already came in and I think they will be fine. Besides that they come in a range of Anodized colors and the Pro Tapers only come in black ,and well to be honest I am an attention hound and I wanted the Blue to match all the other Blue Anodized aluminum bits I ordered so it looks flashy haha!!
We have a good bit of Grom and Grom clones here in PCB and how I'm building mine and the parts I'm using are from looking at and talking to the Owners of a lot of em and combining what looked best to me for the look I want and preparing it to learn to stunt on, I can wheelie my 2004 Sportster but a Vader will be so much easier and a lot less expensive or dangerous when ya drop it !

Oh nice i see, fun project, you know you will want to put all that stuff on the first day you get the bike...Haha but take your time. Post pics along the way or when you finish.

I think i'm going to get those bars next, yeah i was going to get the protaper bars but i hate the crossbar pad i would just take it off.

Zx250r 07-06-2018 09:06 PM

Cool let me know if you need a pad to crash.

You plan on swapping the swingarm and suspension?

I want to do a track setup and may go with clipons

Yeah man i am going to swap the swingarm and rear shock out and put the EBC Big Rotor kit on the front , but thats on my "Phase Two" list, so I'm looking at either January/February or later ,I paid for the Vader and ordered a LOT of parts already so I got to save up some coins for round two , so the short answer is yes, but not right away cause now I'm broke lol!
What I'm trying to do is build something with a "roadrace" look, that's still stunt capable if that makes any sense ., so it's going to be a mix of those two looks. I just settled on the graphics I want to put on it but it's a secret for now , I'll save that for when i do my "reveal" after my Phase One is completed ,I'll put them on last for that !

Lucastheking 07-29-2018 01:08 AM

I made an account just to reply to this post btw!
I recently bought a boom 125 as my first bike, i got interested in doing some mods to it last week, i love your part list and will be buying a lot of the things you have listed, please post some pictures of your bike! Im very interssted to see how it looks with all the mods, thank you!!

RedCrowRides 07-29-2018 09:07 AM

Welcome to Chinariders.net Lucas! Actually my list has grown and I need to update it at some point today and add the description and links for the addtl. parts ,so check back for that !
My Vader 125 has been trapped in "shipping limbo" for a while now ,I have this huge pile of parts ready to put on it and no bike yet ! But, I will be photographing as well as Video'ing the build and posting those just as soon as it gets here so you will be able to see how it looks both stock as well as during the build up as well as the "finished product" ,altho I'm not sure we are ever really "finished" once we start modding a bike, there's always that " one more thing" you want to add or change lol!

Anyways I am glad that "The List" is helping people, I figure if it helps even one person find a part they have been looking for or gives them an idea for their bike even if they don't use the specific stuff i chose then it has served it's purpose and was worthwhile!

Be sure and post us some info and pix of your Bike and build too, I never get tired of seeing what other people do with their machines be it small details or major rebuilds!
Once again welcome aboard ,chinariders.net has a great community and has been a great help to me as well as many others, I think you will like it here!

Zx250r 07-30-2018 02:58 PM

Mine is locked up for a while til I can get back to wrenching. Let me know what motor mount bolts you swap in. My engine is already rocking a few mm with only 400 miles

RedCrowRides 07-31-2018 07:57 PM

Zx250r , I pretty much plan on taking out the ones the Vader arrives with and going to

Tractor Supply and Lowes in town and buying the strongest grade equivalents they have in 5/16" ,and adding lock washers and hopefully nylok nuts ,if I can't find Nylok nuts to use on top of the lock washers I'll buy two nuts and tighten one down on top of the other, on top of the lock washer.

I've read way too many stories here about them coming loose and/or breaking to not address that issue right off the bat ,I'll be sure and make a note of the specific stock numbers I use so I can post them . ,and whether they came from Tractor Supply or Lowes ( Thats about it on hardware stores in my small town heh )

Peace !

cbrfxr67 08-01-2018 09:39 AM

I ordered grom axle and engine bolts from bikebandit. I installed the rear axle which was perfect but haven't done the others. Need to do that before shazam happens.

RedCrowRides 08-01-2018 02:42 PM

Yea I think OEM Grom hardware will fit ,I actually think the Chinese bolts might well be strong enough, the actual issue is the nuts come loose and the rocking causes enough stress for the bolt to then shear ,if they didn't ever come loose then they would last.
But that said, we aren't talking a lot of money for a couple of known good quality 5/6" bolts ,nuts, and washers so it's worth it to just swap the entire mess out and be done with it ,I'm no fan of "Chinesium" hardware , they strip out, wring off ,and corrode way to fast, easy and often .I am planning on basically replacing every accessible nut , bolt, and washer I can get to no matter where it is ,I ordered a stainless steel engine bolt kit for a Grom , picked up two metric nut / bolt/washer assortment kits at Lowes and also ordered a blue anodized aluminum nut /bolt/washer

complete fairing kit for a Grom and a 100 pc count bag of rubber washers that will hopefully keep the Vader plastics from vibration and stress cracking .That, and a big honkin bottle of blue loc tite .

Chinabike 08-01-2018 03:07 PM

Can't wait to see!!! ugh!
Can you post link or pic to all the

Yeah man, this link is for a complete kit that replaces all the screws that hold your fairings on ,this one is in Blue but they are available in several colors :
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Fa...72.m2749.l2649

These are the rubber washer kits :https://www.ebay.com/itm/Thick-Rubbe...r=591264225182 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/Neoprene-Ru...r=590666895201

You will need to measure the indents in your side plastics/fairings and see what OD washers to use ,these are just two examples but they come in 1/2" OD and 3/4" OD too on EBay.

There is a stainless steel engine bolt kit too :https://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-UP-HON...T/311904436587

hope this helps, let me know if you are chasing any other bits and pieces or parts I got a lot of this hooha saved in my Vader Folder lol.

Chinabike 08-01-2018 06:50 PM

Oh perfect. I was wanting to get some spares to have on hand.

RedCrowRides 08-06-2018 10:46 AM

Some of you may know I ordered a Vader that shipped on the 16th of July, looks like its finally getting to me this Wednesday the 8th of Aug.,so I will be beginning this build series shortly after that.,at long last. A few of my parts that were ordered from Thailand /China are still not here ,but nothing that will keep me from getting started ,I have an awful lot to put on and of course I still have to do the grease, oil, lube , and loctite everything on it and swap the engine mount bolts etc etc and change the oil it comes with out ,check the hoses for kinks and all that other good stuff that comes with owning a China bike.
That said I am super fired up and can't wait to finally actually get this thing and get to work !

Let me know what engine mount bolts you go with, have to swap mine out too.

Going to do swing arm and suspension then should be ready for zs190 if I can ever find one

I'll post a pic later ,but got the thing put together in it's original all stock configuration.
Gettin' the front wheel on all by myself required a few hi powered cusswords ,but it went on there lol. Everything seems to be there ,some minor scratches but not anything worth crying about ,only thing that I had issues with was the rear shock cover /fender thing had one tab on the frame that wasnt even close to lining up so i just put a hvy duty zip tie there. It has the stock rear shock on it ( for now) but i have a Ohlins knockoff to put on it ,and I'm going to change that shock cover/fender out for a custom piece from Dark Knight in Thailand when i change the shock so it's all good.
Gonna go get some 93 gas for it , change the shipping oil out for good oil and ride it once ,then the Rebuild will get underway!

Did you swap the engine bolts yet?

Looks great so far

RedCrowRides 08-21-2018 11:20 AM

I have not swapped the engine mount bolts out yet ,I attempted to do so

the top one came out "fairly" easily but the bottom one is going to be trouble ., it seems it is so tight that the 6 point socket i had was in danger of stripping the bolt head out ,I am going to get a 12 point socket which should fit tighter, soak it in LPS or WD40 for a few days then try my elec impact wrench with the 12 point on it.I really do NOT want to have to deal with a wrung off bolt thats in there that tight .Soon as I do manage to get it out I will post what bolts I use to replace the stock ones with. My OEM Grom chain adjusters that go inside the swingarm and loop the rear axle bolt are due in on UPS today, so later i should be posting me re-doing the back end of the bike though, so thats something i guess lol.

I always come back to this list when i'm looking for something redcrow! Any tips on brake pads? Thanks for all the great info you contribute here btw!

RedCrowRides 05-13-2019 10:27 PM

Man, i sure dont know what they are , but ican tell you i did get some new front brake pads from Kronik Racing in Simi Valley, California for my Vader. , i think they were or are either ceramic or sintered metallic, i know they were a big upgrade over my stockers ,which i got brake fluid all over when i changed to stainless steel brake lines so i had to replace them lol.,they were not that expensive.

You can contact Kronik at : Phone: (805) 630-7223 , they are super nice guys and they will be happy to sell you replacement stock pads if thats what you want, or some better ones ,it's up to you and your budget.

P.S. (Edit) They sell rear brake pads too, i forgot to mention that and i didnt notice you didnt specify whether you needed front or back ones, my brain just immediately defaulted to me needing new front ones because i am an idiot ,and got brake fluid all over em lol so thats what i talked about.
