Apollo orion 36-rx 250cc
Hey guys.
I'm new to the forum, so hello to everyone here. Does anyone know anything about the given bike? It's like 2-3 weeks old by now, it has some eletrical problems but that's not the case. I would like to get rid of the limiters, so far we have an idea it has 3 limiters. 1 in exhaust, 1 in air-intake, 1 in carburetor. Possible the rev limiter is in the CDI (the brain I guess). Any tips about the bike or anything? Since the bike is really dead to me, as in it doesn't really go into revs, impossible to wheelie with it and so on. It's a nice bike and I believe it'll ride just fine, only needs some changes. With best regards, Me :thanks: |
Welcome!
For starters, please show us a pic of the bike. It's tough to get a sense of it from your avatar. |

I can't seem to get the image to display in a reasonable size. perhaps someone smarter than me can assist.

That's a really cool bike. It looks like it might be an OHC water-cooled engine.
Can you show us the CDI? |
I know little to nothing about the bikes, so where could I fine the CDI?
It still has a guarantee, so should I open the bike up and remove the CDI? 'Cause I'm forced to drop it to a guarantee service anyways in 1-2 weeks, maybe i'll wait and do it after that. Since the electronical failures, some very random engine kills, battery is done for, only starts with a kick-starter, which is fine by me tho. Quote:

I know it is water cooled; what I meant is that it looks like a water-cooled OHC engine. Most of the water cooled China bikes I've seen have been pushrod motors (at least the Honda clones).
When you say it has a guarantee, do you mean there is warranty coverage on this bike? |
Found some papers
Engine Manufacturer: Zhejiang Apollo Motorcycle Manufacturer Co.,Ltd Engine type as marked on the engine : APL170MM Cylinder Cap. : 249cc Which is worrying me is, that it's 250cc and has 13kw/7.5k rpm, is it normal? Quote:

Yes, that's right, warranty :)

If you open his image links then click on the pictures they open up very full size. 3 pictures total. Nice looking bike.

Yes, that translates to about 17hp. Sounds about right.
You might free up another hp or two with some air filter and muffler upgrades. |

Thanks a lot guys, once I'm done with these, I'll hit you all back on how it went. :thanks: |
Adjuster, how did you get the pics to be a reasonable size?
|
This is the website I use. The pics are never stored on your computer so no wasted space. It is perfect for pulling pics from the web when you want to post them into a forum like this one.

No account needed. But if you want to open an account you can and your photos will be stored just like PhotoBucket etc. I suggest no account as I just use this to post quick photos in forums. I do not use it for storage.
Save the pic to your desktop. Any pic from web, camera etc doesn't matter. Use the 'choose file' and locate the pic you want to insert in the forum. You can use the 'default' pic size or make it larger or smaller your choice. Hit the upload button. Sometimes you will be asked a small security question or asked to type in a phrase or watch a small video just to verify your not a spammer. For forums you want the image code. Copy the 'IMG' code and paste it in your forum thread and your done. It sounds quite complicated but after you do it once it is very simple. http://i60.tinypic.com/nqoc2s.jpg / |
Thanks for posting the good tip.
I usually download the desired image, and resize it in MS Paint. However, TinyPic makes the job quicker and easier. :) |
I was simply trying to find a way to link a reasonable size pic from the hosting site that Just a Rider was using. Thanks for the tips.

Nice looking machine. Any idea what the fuel tank capacity is?
My Baja X250 looks very similar, chassis-wise. That is, it has the perimeter-style frame rather than a single backbone style. My fuel tank is only 0.8 gallons, and I'd really like to find something larger that fits my perimeter frame. Kirk |
