New Parts
Well i just installed new performance CDI and new Mikuni 30mm carb runs much better now..pulls wheelies no problem just need some pointers on fine tuning carb it seems to wanna stall out unless i give it gas
Are you saying it doesn't idle very good? Does it get better if you add choke?, could be the idle is a bit lean, try turning your A/F screw out a 1/4 turn or so, if your more than 2 turns out then a bigger pilot jet is needed.
For reference, the 30mm carbs i've seen come with a 20 pilot and 100 main jet installed, most of the people with 200cc beasts on here have gone to a 110 main and 25 pilot with good results. |
yeah i didnt get much time to tinker with it before dark just ook it down the street and back im gonna mess around with it tomorrow
now i need some good performance shocks all the way around it and i will be good does any one know where i can get some other than giobikes.com
OK i am having problems getting bike to idle now. It will idle for about 30 seconds then it just gets so low it stalls out i have adjusted the air/ fuel mix it doesnt seem to help any. The only thing i havent done is adjust the needle.....PLEASE HELP...LOL!!!!!!!!

Jets are cheap, but as mentioned before your new carb should have came with a 100 main and 20 pilot and i have suggested what other members are using which is the 110 main and 25 pilot, most of us have done all the upgrades though, cdi, mikuni carb, UNI air filter and some exhaust work. Does your carb say mikuni on it?. |
new carb on the right
I really need help... im not sure what type of jet to buy .I know i want a 110 main jet and 25 pilot . Would my best bet be to take the whole carb to the parts store and have them match them...i just tell them what size i want Right??
I have got the idling part fixed but when i give it full throttle it cuts out is that the jets or is that because i installed new CDI? It kinda sounds like its hittin a rev limiter
Need a pic of the other side of your carb, does it say mikuni on the top side of it?, if so then you have the same type of carb as the rest of us from GIO, and these would be the jets you would need
Main jet - 110 in a type N100.604 Large Round http://www.sudco.com/mikuni_mj2.html#n100604 Pilot Jet - 25 in a type VM28/486 http://www.sudco.com/mikuni_pj.html#vm28486 Those links will provide you with actual Mikuni part numbers, your local motorcycle dealer might also be able to get them from other sources too. |
Yes it does..... so the jet types that i included in the post above will apply to your carb, just unscrew the main and pilot and compare them to the ones in the links i provided to be sure, they should be the same, if so you can use the type i listed and your local motorcycle dealer should be able to source them for you.
ok thanks man i appreciate the help

Yep those look the same as mine, not sure if you have vernier calipers or not but for reference the main jet at the head is .312" dia and is .16" thick the overall length is .55" long, yours should be marked with a "100" on it i'm guessing.
The pilot is 1.097" long, .194" dia. at the bottom, the threaded part measures .151" dia ( biggest part of the thread) and the top part is .075" dia., yours should have a "20" marked on it. You should be good to go with the types i posted in that earlier thread. |
Does that camera have a MACRO setting ? if so turn it on and your pictures will be so much better.
If its a cell phone or some other gadget then thats pretty good. |
No Team my camera doesnt have a MARCO SETTING ITS AN OLDER ONE ...AND YES WAYNEV they are marked 100 and 20

Also. do you still have the china spark plug in it?, i would replace that with a NGK, not sure if your liquid is the same as our air cooled 200cc models but i've been using the NGK DR8ES-L in mine. |

Also can anyone tell me what this black hose is it comes out of motor and goes into my air filter
http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...e/PICT0546.jpg http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/...e/PICT0548.jpg |
yes i have changed the spark plug to NGK and about the air filter the one that came off of it has a black hose that goes into the air filter as shown above i need to know what this hose is for and if i need to keep a filter on it and what type
Anyone???
I'm pretty sure it's just a breather tube... Some one else will surely chime in eventually though, patience is a virtue ;) People are probably enjoying the holiday, happy new year.
yeah your prolly right im just gonna put the jets i have back in the carb and go riding im bored ill just deal with the sputtering for now
Jim is absolutely correct.
the black hose is a crankcase breather |
where did you buy your carb, and cdi and if you dont mind, how much did you pay ?
I am looking for a monster pipe for my beast. I want the pipe before i got jetting and modifying fuel, air mixture. Anyone have any ideas where one can be found ??? I know they are discontinued and hard to find, but they are in my opinion the only pipe worth upgrading too. |
Cory, I believe he ordered them from this site,
http://www.motopartsmax.com But it may just be the cdi he ordered there? I got my carb off the gio auctions, it took some paitence but I got it for $13 (plus auction fee / shipping). Though it hasn't arrived yet. I'm not sure about pipe but I bet someone has an idea on it. |
excellent Jim, thanks for the reply. I just found this site today and I plan to get my use out of it. I also intend to help as many people as I can.
I appreciate the input, cheers and HNY11 |
Happy new year to you too, and welcome to the forums.
I paid 99.50 for both CDI and carb shipping was free
and about the breather hose should i put a filter on it |
I've seen them with and without, but it couldn't hurt to have a filter...
