Zongshen RC3
Anyone know anything regarding the new Zongshen RC3 street bike?:hmm:
:thanks: |
The bike looks a lot like the Zongshen ZS250GS-3A.
Here's the Zongshen RC3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6cpUrkWiWM |

Here's a video of some Zongshen RC3 bikes on the road. ;)

It's official. CSC is going to import the Zongshen RC3. Here is a video from the CSC Blog, showing the first RC3 to arrive in North America. :)

The Zongshen RC3 has the same engine as the Zongshen RX3. :)

The Zongshen RC3 is a new bike, and is definitely different from the Zongshen ZS250GS-3A. ;)

The Zongshen RC3 is also being sold in the Dominican Republic. ;)

Interesting. I wonder if they tuned the engine any differently from the RX3.
|
The RC3 is obvious competition for the Honda CBR300R, another single-cylinder bike with an MSRP of $4,399. I wonder what price CSC will fix for the RC3?

hmmmm....wait shit i think i just heard my wallet go running out the door screaming Rape!..
|
It looks nice. I'm really curious about the price. The Honda CB300's are really good bikes and can be had around 3700 or 3400 for the F naked bike. If it sells for 2500 or something like that it'll be competitive.
http://www.westernhonda.com/new_vehi...&submit=Search Hopefully the front exhaust valves are easier to check hehe. |
Apparently they took the Zongshen RC3 bikes on a 10,000 kilometer test ride. Here is the video. :)

Don't miss the boat!!!

CSC really knows how to crack open my wallet. Don't even have the TT250 yet not to mention all the farkels I'll be spending on it. Nice look'n bike. Rojo |
Forgot to mention. Obviously the Orange one will be the fastest!!:)
|
I didn't know the RC3 has ABS brakes. I like the colors, also. :)

New RC-3 sport bike confirmed..
Great to see CSC continuing to add to their stable of bikes by bringing in this RC-3 sportbike. Love the fact this comes standard with ABS for $2900. Definitely will be interesting to see how it does. Although not the same value as the RX-3 or even the TT-250, it should still sell pretty well for people wanting a brand new entry level beginners bike that wont break the bank. If I remember correctly I think a new ninja 300r is $5000 and comes with ABS as well, and the cbr is around the same. Used market is great for those two bikes though so definitely a lot more competition for this bike.

I have seen the red one at CSC and all I can say is... WOW. The red paint pops (just like on the RX3), but with much more of the body panels painted, the RC3 really stands out in person. I'll bet all the colors do. And Rojo_Grande, you're spot on. CSC knows way to well how to get to my pocketbook! :) My wife is not amused. :ohno: |
The RC3 is going to have a lot of entry sport-bike riders interested. For the price of a used CBR250 or Ninja 250, you can get a brand new RC3 with ABS. It's a smoking deal. Can't wait to read the write-ups!
|
Hmm, I have to be a bit scared for the RC3 at that price point considering how many sport bikes there are out there. I saw a basically brand new yammy r3 for $4000 today and a few ninja 300's in the $3500-4500 range. so if you look at $3230 its a harder sell but it is new and has ABS standard so they'll probably do decently well. the highest amount of bikes sold are streetbikes in the USA after all!
|
the Hyosung 250R is msrp of $3799 too, and will probably be had at a lower retail price point too. the question will be the quality of the CSC brand vs the others. if it's solid, their price delivered to your door isn't bad. however, keep in mind that this is their introduction pre-sales price. once this offer goes, their price will go up 300-400 or more. that puts it right in the price of the Hyosung and not much variation from the japaneese nameplates.

Ya definitely will be interesting to see how this bike does and even more interesting to see what it sells for after the "dont miss the boat" sale is done. Unlike the RX-3 which has both experienced and beginner owners, I think alot more beginning riders will flock to this because they dont know any better and all they see is a cool looking bike $1200+ less than the next closest competitor.

I saw the RC-3 in person at Azusa. It looks a lot more serious in riding position than the Ninja 300, CBR-250/300 and the Yamaha R3. It's got a supersport riding position which could be what some people want for track use. If they suspension is decent and brakes it's going to be well worth the price. Most of the low CC sports bikes are just a standard in disguise with low end components.
Unlike the RX3 which is the only low cc ADV bike you can get the RC-3 will be up against lots of competition for hold over new Japanese, used Japanese and new Korean bikes. Not sure what Western Honda charges other than Destination but these are some competitive prices. Romney Cycle which is about a days ride for me but well worth the trip for the price, like Western goes by Volume and sells Yam R3's for just under 5000 otd and the Ninja 300 for about 4000 otd, they only charge a 75 dollar doc fee. If this RC-3 has good components it'll do well for those who want a more serious small sport bike. http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/a...psvmrwnyru.png |
I hope the RC-3 does well, here's what a 300cc can do in the right hands, basically humiliate 95% of normal riders with someone who knows what they're doing.
https://youtu.be/bfAjy5Dq5TQ 1:58:66 "It’s true, this little CBR is on slicks, tuned suspension, has a quickshifter, and is up 8 horsepower on the stock CBR300’s 28 ponies. But still, last time we held a superbike shootout at Chuckwalla (with bikes like the Aprilia’s RSV4, BMW’s S1000RR, and Kawasaki’s ZX-10R) most of our testers only managed between a 1:54 and 2:05 laptimes." Record lap is only about 6.5 seconds faster on a Kawasaki 636. 1:51:84. I hope CSC offers some nice upgrades to get the most out of the bike, maybe offer one to Ari Henning.......... |
At an introductory price of $2,895, plus a $300 shipping fee, and a $35 document fee, the Zongshen RC3 is competitively priced with the other bikes in this category. :) In fact, the RC3 is selling for about $1,200 less than the Honda CBR300R. ;)

Gentlemen, we do have a thread on the RC3 posted in the Street Forum. ;)

^^^^^Very cool. By any chance does that guy only weigh 90 pounds?

Are there any specs on the bike yet?

Intro price is good, it's going to need good components to compete at full price. If they raise it to 3300-3500+300 shipping and a doc or crating fee your right on top of prices for the cbr300 and ninja 300. It's easy to find them well under Msrp.
This ones in a much more competitive field than the RX3. |
I agree with you on all points, Lee. ;)
|
Specifications for the RC3 bike were posted at the CSC Blog. :)
http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=20492 http://californiascooterco.com/blog/...6/03/Specs.jpg The RC3 has a lot of nice features, and the price is pretty competitive when you consider the bike has ABS braking as a standard feature. :) http://californiascooterco.com/blog/...4_4625-650.jpg |
Even BMW are getting in on the 300cc road market....
An ADV bike spin off with this motor would be nice... http://www.webbikeworld.com/BMW-moto...-r/preview.htm .. |

I received an email from the local BMW dealer. He is taking pre-orders...however no price was mentioned. jb |
My knee jerk reaction to this was "Awesome!" , , , , , but then, , ,
I go looking about at new Ninja 300, CBR300R's, remembering I paid something like $4k out the door for my 2015 CB300F, started thinking about the Kawa/Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha supreme dealer service network all across the nation, their warranty, and the virtually 100% reliability of all the Jap bikes. THEN went looking within 150 miles of my home for used 250's! WOW there is a LOT of very very low miles excellent condition CBR's and the like for sale! Almost all of them BELOW $2500 mark. I feel ( HOPE I am wrong! ) that the RC3 will be a total flop. :ohno: RX3, SURE!!! Great adv bike at an untouchable price in a class of its own. RC3, , , , , no way. Even at the pre arrival introductory price, it is still more than $500 over priced. |
Wonder if Honda have plans for a X version
of the CB300R as they have done with the CB500R "CB500X , soft ADV bike" .. |
