hi there suggestion regarding tone and attitudes

I had a yamaha rd 400. due to that freak I had to find a good site to go to for technical help. On the site they had a fourm they called the back yard. If a member had issues about another member they took it to the back yard. the technical help was exelent and very focused while the back yard was a slush pit where almost anything was accepted. Maby this might help keep the info focused on china bikes. and keep the technical/help forums cleaner.

Thanks a million for a great site,

IronFist 05-12-2008 01:32 PM

Really..... Long....... Answer..... Short. No. :D
To be fair, I intend to write more and edit my answer later, ok? N2r.

katoranger 05-12-2008 02:17 PM

We had a rules forum that was deleted by accident by the administrator.

This is intended to be a family site. If members have a problem they can pm each other.

Allen

alonzo 05-13-2008 12:11 AM

works for me.
Once again, Thanks a million for this site

Mavrick 05-13-2008 12:38 AM

Are you having some sort of problem with someone, Alonzo?

Re: hi there suggestion regarding tone and attitudes

Interesting idea, but it basically transfers bad behaviour from many forums to a single forum. I want to avoid/prevent bad behaviour. Period.

That's the main reason we added 3 moderators. Things were getting out of hand with a few members and I couldn't be on 24/7 to play referee.

I must say, since the Mod's were added things have been running much smoother.

Now, if I could just get the #$%% moderators forum working......

Unfortunately, our leader used symbols to denote swearing, in a family forum, where he is the only Moderator.

"Now, if I could just get the #$%% moderators forum working...... "

We are going to have to have a word with him.

Mavrick 05-13-2008 05:57 PM

Wow, this is lame. lol

TeamCheap 05-13-2008 08:43 PM

I say no just from having been on a site like that and it really didnt help that much and is not anyplace for a kid to be.

Now if the frostbite could find a boxing game plug-in for the site and we could all log-in at the scheduled fight time that might be fun or a race game plug-in.

No no that wont work either because I'd be picking fights just to have fun.   (sorry I'll continue to fade away)

liverchip 05-15-2008 05:09 PM

There can be.

katoranger 05-15-2008 05:21 PM

We have some teenagers for sure.

Allen

Mavrick 05-15-2008 06:08 PM

I'm a teenager. If you consider 17 a teenager.

DesertDog 05-15-2008 08:59 PM

Mavrick 05-15-2008 09:19 PM

You'll be a teenager until you hit 20 but even so at 17 your closing in on "young adult" fast.(its all good :) )

Mavrick 05-16-2008 07:43 AM

It's all good. I'm not in a rush to get old and wrinkly anyways.

iMoose 05-16-2008 03:50 PM

I voted for dirt.

Death85e 05-17-2008 11:16 AM

I taught dirt how to be dirty  I also had a raptor for a pet and taught moses to part the red sea and jesus to walk on water.....but that being put aside everyone has access to this site from the young to the admittedly very old 8O . so the site hould be kept family freindly and must say the addition of the extra mods has had the effect of taming the wild ones that needed it...also curbed my inherent brain malfunction of allowing my mouth to override my brains ability to to keep a civil tongue
Many thanks to all for all the help and extreme thanks to Frostbite for making this site!!!
Also want to say thanks to the mods for being human and doing a great job!

Mavrick 05-17-2008 01:37 PM

Yeah, I say thanks as well. This is a wonderful forum.

 insert comeback here.
You could rephrase yourself....some guys might not let this pass!

ChiGongJitsu 06-14-2008 08:19 AM

People that hoot and holler and try to pick fights are just in need of recognition.

People that don't do that stuff end up sticking around and supporting their fellow riders.

The people that put negative stuff into forums/their language/the world around them, never really ask themselves if they should maybe try and be positive for once. Just my 2 cents 8)

kczukiman 06-14-2008 09:02 AM

What about a time out room? After a couple warnings and a person continues to be offensive, put them in a time out room for a few days and take away their ability to post.

Why do I feel like this suggestion is like getting the paddle for my dad so he can swat me? :D

Sure seams like a bunch of work for frosty, babysitting the time out logs.
Besides then if someone wanted to act up, they'd think they won't get banned, only a time out.

I think that if you disrespect a member, and you won't say sorry publicly. Then you should find another site where bashing is incouraged.

I thought of a graduated licence for new members; sort of a probation period. But I came to the same conclusion: It would make more work not less. :(

ChiGongJitsu 06-15-2008 11:19 PM

a quote that i like, i think it was from the matrix or something but it seems true alot, "you have already made the choice, you just have to try and understand why"

i just like that quote alot...

ChiGongJitsu 06-15-2008 11:19 PM

in saying that, anybody who wants to get kicked off a forum has already decided to get kicked off well in advance

Actually I meant that as a joke in this politically correct world.Thats why I put the laugh emotion up.There was no such thing as time out when I ws growing up. :D

IronFist 06-16-2008 08:30 AM

My old man was a drill sargent, literally. 8O

He served for 23 years. My first 14 years were on base. I found out I was in trouble after I picked myself up from the corner. There wasn't even warning.

kczukiman 06-16-2008 05:34 PM

I like many can relate. Look how we turned out!My father was a carere Highway patrolman for the state of Ohio.I am a certified patrol brat.

LOL...Nothing like a "fix-it-ticket" from the ol' man!

My dad was a furniture mover, and occasionally he would move me across the room without blinking an eye. I know I deserved it 99% of the time
