First time on site, hello to all
Hello to everyone out there, I just purchased a zongshen 200 used and would like to know if there ate any tips on the handling , operation, upgrade and care for this type of bike. I got it at a really good price and would like to keep it running well for a long time to come, any tips would be greatly appreciated
Thanks to all |
Welcome!
Zongs come in a few different flavours, so a photo of your bike would be very helpful. |
Welcome from me as well! :D
If you own a Sierra you've come to the right place, Spudrider is nothing short of a Zongshen guru! Here's a link to a bunch of tech articles on mods he has done to his Zong :) http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...ewtopic&t=8673 |
Welcome; we are glad you joined us! :) Is your bike a Zongshen 200GY-2, as shown in the photograph below?

http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...ewtopic&t=8673 If you maintain your Zong well, it will keep running for a very long time, indeed. ;) I currently have 52,560 miles on my Zong's odometer. :D Spud :) |
Thanks ,I'm reading as we speak. I'm a first time motorcycle owner so I have a lot to learn and with helpful persons like you guys I'm sure I'll learn quickly.

If you have time, please post some photographs of your Zong. We love photos! :) How many miles are on the bike's odometer? I suggest you change the engine oil, and check the valve lash on your Zong. If you change the engine oil every 1,000 miles, and check the valve lash periodically, you will doing the most important maintenance tasks to keep your engine healthy. ;) Here are links to two threads detailing those procedures. :) http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...ewtopic&t=7415 http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...ewtopic&t=6458 Spud :) |
He's got the right bike and the right forum that's for sure!
Welcome! :D |
I'm trying to copy and paste a pic of the bike but it's. Of allowing me to do so. Any pointers on how to put pics in the posts. Thanks. Also the odometer is 1152 and I will be changing the oil and checking the lash as soon as I pick it up form my shipping company. I'm really looking forward to riding this bike. Thanks guys

seems to be fully stock with no mods. i plan to make a few changes without changing the overall look of the bike. keeping it running in great condition is my main goal

Can you get knobby tires for it in the Bahamas?
|
I should be able to, if I assume correctly thats the type of tyres on it now right.
|
Would it be better to start posting in the dual sport forum

Thanks for posting the nice photograph. Indeed, your bike appears to be an unmodified stock bike, in very good condition! :D Regarding the tires, some bikes shipped from China with knobby tires. However, we can't find any 15-inch, knobby tires for the rear wheel in the United States. If you can get them, good for you! However, don't be surprised if you can't find them for sale. :( Spud :) |
Beautiful bike! I hope that you have many happy miles on it.
|
Thank you guys , all posts will be on the other forum,
