hole in flexible intake...
1 Attachment(s)
I should have taken the picture before the patch but...I was getting some popping / sputtering at idle that I couldn't shake. I discovered a hole in my flexible intake runner. I have temporally "patched" this with rtv and I'm waiting on it to dry.
Brozz owners check yours where I have mine patched. Heck, put a picture of yours here so I can see just how bad mine really was. ***Wondering if the TT250 intake is the same??*** |

I'm waiting to find a solid aluminum one for when my Hawk's dry-rots. They're listed on amazon, but seem to be forever out of stock.

On a side note, have any of you Brozz/Shark/Enforcer owners pulled the EPA smog air injection nonsense off your motor yet? If so, please post pics and the proper procedure as I'm truly considering this modification. With the aftermarket exhaust, this is creating a small backfire upon deceleration, in addition to my sneaking suspicion that my stock pilot jet is too small.

Thanks Big! Mine had a perfect square hole. So perfect for a few minutes I was convinced it was supposed to be there lol. But reality set in and I plugged that bugger. Put over 100 miles on mine today (almost hitting 1K) and boy she ran great! Gonna order another intake, maybe a mukini carb, and just enjoy the heck out of this Brozz

Thanks Jeff!

This is extremely common and will happen to most, if not all of them in time. It will on;y get worse until you have the entire rubber area coated with RTV.3
I've had three of them and replaced them with this. Works great and helps support the carb better if you run a pod filter too. Unfortunately "currently unavailable"...but that changes. I have not had any issues with them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

I spotted some on taobao I think it was, but I'd rather find a US based source.

Well thanks there 2LZ. I found one on aliExpress. Never ordered from them before but nows a good time to start I suppose...
This MUST have been there from day one and was very tiny. This bike has never ran better than it does now with the rtv on there. |

Yah.... I think that the rubber fused manifold are that way to possibly keep some of the harmonic vibration off the carb????....is the only thing I can think of. It can't be to stifle heat from the motor because not many substances sheds heat like aluminum.
It will be interesting to get more of these solid manifolds out there and in service to see how they do. Like I said, I've not had any issues with them but I don't ride hard either. Funny thing was my Lifan motor (X-Moto) took the manifold flipped one way and the TT250 takes it flipped the other way. It's just a matter of which way the carb points coming off the motor. |

The cool things is they come with the rubber washer built in too! No need to peel it out of your existing manifold.

I'll just toss mine onto the classifieds here and ebay. Someone can get some good use from it. So.....Round two. If anyone knows of a replacement that fits out bikes, please advise. |

just last week I was looking at a set of front BRAKE SHOES on a china site... one of the bikes they listed as fitment was a YZF250... The thing is yamaha have never made a YZF250 with drum brakes... a case of know what yer buying....... PS... why a all alloy intake manifold.... heat & vibration transfured to the carb... . |

Like I said in a prior post, you can flip them upside down depending on which way the carb points. On my X-moto, since you can no longer flex the manifold, I had to mount the carb to the manifold, then work the whole unit into place. |
